Mr. Martez Donell Grandberry

MARTEZ' LIFE AND LEGACY........MARTEZ DONELL GRANDBERRY was born on June 25, 1981, to his mother, Marie Grandberry and father, Alfred Hewley in Clarksdale, Mississippi. Martez received his primary education at Grand Avenue Elementary School and attended middle school at Webster Middle School in Milwaukee, WI. Martez graduated from Forest Hill High School in Plymouth, WI. He, later, studied to be an electrician at Milwaukee Area Technical College. Martez accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, at age ten and was united with Community Baptist Church, where Reverend Nabors presided. He was united in holy matrimony, with Lakeesha Robinson on May 30, 2013, in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was employed at Piggly Wiggly, as an assistant manager. He, also, worked as a carpenter, repairing homes and renovating apartments. His famous sayings were, "What you got on it?" and "You gonna learn today!" On any Sunday, Martez wore his Green Bay Packers gear and waited for the next football game to come on. In his leisure, he enjoyed spending time with his children, family and friends. He was the family comedian, who loved to make people laugh. Martez was the family's "Barbecue King", who loved to entertain and cook, for his family at home and to bring everyone together, as one. Martez had a great love for music. He enjoyed listening to "Gangsta Party", by 2pac, who as one of his favorite artists. HE LOVED LIFE AND LIVED IT TO THE FULLEST! Describing Martez is impossible. He meant so much to so many people. He was: a dedicated spouse, an adoring son, devoted father, (according to Tish) the second, most attractive child, a giver of his time, talents and love- all of himself to those, who were in his circle, a forever friend, a nurturer of children, and had an entrepreneurial spirit. Martez was multi-faceted. He could converse with the pastor, as well as, his crew, showed kindness to care for babies and had a serious toughness to take care of business. His spirit, presence and all of who he was will be missed. The legacy of Martez, the man, will live on forever. Martez was known to many as, "Cheeseburger", "Burger", "Uncle Big Tez", "God-Daddy", "Great Uncle", "Tez" and "Papa". MARTEZ DONELL GRANDBERRY departed this life on July 27, 2017, at Froedtert Hospital. He was preceded in death by his: grandma, Christine Grandberry; grandfather, Anernise Grandberry Jr.; and three uncles. Martez was very passionate about his family! He leaves to cherish his loving memory his: wife, Lakeesha Grandberry; mother, Marie Grandberry; mothers-in-law, Cozetta Robinson and Janice Banyard; father-in-law, Kenny Banyard; children: Martez Jr., Montez and Martaysia Grandberry, Crystal Robinson and Isaiah Renfro; "Papa's" one granddaughter, Melania Glover; one brother, Maurice Grandberry; three sisters: Matisha (Julian Pigue), Kisha and Valeica Wilks; seven sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; one goddaughter, Destiny Grandberry; one godson, Markenis Wilks Jr.; three great-great aunts: Oral Jean Williams of Clarksdale, MS, Mary Ann Luckett, and Asalinea "Doll Baby" Luckett of Chicago, IL; three great aunts: Maggie Grandberry, Ella Mae Grandberry (Larry Richards) and Mary Louise (Aaron) Lee; two great uncles: Charles Grandberry of Clarksdale, MS and Henry Lewis (Darlene) Pullom; aunts: Shirley (Earl) Deadwyler, Linda Grandberry and Ella Grandberry (George) Lopez; one great niece, Lauren Robinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
