Mrs. Ophelia Hudson

Sister Ophelia Hudson was born on February 10,1932 in Ruston, Louisiana to the late Will and Luella Kelley. She moved to Sparkman, Arkansas where she attended and completed her formal education at Sparkman High. While living in Sparkman, Sister Ophelia attended First Baptist Church of Sparkman where she accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age. At the age of 24, Sister Ophelia relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and became a faithful member under Reverend L.D. Bell succeeded by Reverend Isaac Hopgood and Reverend Charles Holmes until her final call to home. Sister Ophelia held numerous positions in the church such as pastor's aide, cooking homemade pies and cakes for the church as well as a member of the Shiloh choir where many loving referred to her as "Big 0". Sister Ophelia was devoted for over 62 years to Shiloh MBC. Sister Ophelia met L.T. Hudson and was united in holy matrimony on November 2, 1963 in Waukegan, Illinois. During their union, the loving couple reared three children; Marilyn, William and Charles. Sister Ophelia Hudson was a devoted wife, mother, sister, provider and friend. She was also known as a person with a generous heart filled with compassion, empathy and love for others. Just one of her many unique qualities that she possessed was her ability to be extremely honest, forthright, candid, funny and blunt with so many of her familiar friends and loved ones. Many people were fond with her deep and affectionate sentiments and that is why she was so loved. She shared a passion of fishing, singing gospel music and listening to the blues. In her leisure time, she also enjoyed watching game shows, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Milwaukee brewers with her late husband. Sister Ophelia Hudson departed this life to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 14, 2018. She reunites with her spiritual loved ones again. Sister Ophelia Hudson's memories will be cherished by all and she is survived by daughter Marilyn Jude of Milwaukee, WI; William (Carol) Hudson of Milwaukee; and Charles (Phyllis) Hudson of Milwaukee; eight grandchildren; Queen Blunt, Latesha Jude, Ted (Stacy) Watson, Tameesha Hudson, Asia Hudson, Brittany (Brian) Riley, Travis & Devin Hudson; seven great-grandchildren Iris Blunt, India Blunt, Israel Blunt, Isaiah Blunt, Aliyah Watson, Jordyn & Jaiden Riley. Along with one great-great grandson Ivory McCaskill. Sister Ophelia Hudson was preceded in death by her loving husband L. T. and five sisters; Bertha Kelley, Maude M. Perry, Ella M. Butler, Francis L. Williams, Corrine (Bob) Joseph. Along with her five brothers Eligh, William L., Lou Will, Marshall' and Dillard Kelley.
