Mr. Anthony Earl Brown

Anthony Earl Brown was born on November 1, 1953, in Wesson, Mississippi, to Mary Louise Brown. His mother later married and had two children before her death on September 26, 1957. Anthony and his to sisters were left in the care of their great-grandmother, Estelle before her death in January of 1961. At this point the three siblings were raised by their great-aunt, Glover Mae. Anthony was introduced to religion at an early age at St. Paul African Methodist Episcopal in Wesson, Mississippi, where he was baptized. He became one of the youngest superintendents in the A.M.E. Church Sunday School. After moving to Milwaukee, he became a member of St. Mark A.M.E. where he served on the usher board. Anthony was educated in the Lincoln County school system beginning at Friendship, moving to Eva Harris and graduation from Lloyd Star in May of 1971. Anthony received a certificate in Welding from Copiah-Lincoln, Jr. college in 1972. During high school Anthony found his natural father and rest of his family; that was a defining moment that helped him understand who he was. In August of 1972 Anthony moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He worked at Continental Can Company until August of 1986. From that point he worked several jobs before his arrival at the United States Postal Service, where he became a mechanic. He was preceded in death by the two people most responsible for his upbringing; his great grandmother Estella Boarden and his MaDear, Glover M. Boarden. He was also preceded in death by his mother Mary Louise Brown Butler; step-father; James L. Butler; father, Willard B. Smith; step-mother, Virlee Carolyn Barcey Smith; grandparents, rosella Boarden, Earl Brown, Joseph Smith and Wilma Smith. Anthony leaves to mourn one son; Christopher Daniel Brown; two daughters: Danielle Nicole Brown and Christine Renee; four grandsons: Jayden LaDell, Bryce Daniel, Mateo Christopher and Christopher Messiah. He leaves six sisters: Debra Johnson, Dorothy (Fred) Catchings, Alice Johnson, Therese Smith, Wilma (Ricky) Wheeler, and Tanisha (Jimmy) Carr, and one brother: Willard Smith. He also leaves three cousins, who were like sisters: Martha Kelly, Hazel (Robert) Taylor, and Shirley (Walter) Smith. He also leaves aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who will miss him dearly.
