Mrs. Antionette Manisonia Patterson

Antionette Manisonia Patterson was born on March 12, 1926 to the union of Edward and Mary Lassiter in Portsmouth, Virginia. She received her formal education at I.c. Norcom High School in Portsmouth. Antionette accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was united with Zion Baptist Church in Portsmouth, Virginia under the leadership of Reverend E.E. Smith. On July 8, 1943, Antionette Lassiter was united in holy matrimony with Zack Patterson, Jr. in Portsmouth, Virginia. Their union was blessed with two loving sons, Johnny Harold and Michael Alexander. After moving to Milwaukee, Wisconsin with her husband, Antionette joined Calvary Baptist Church, where she served as an usher, greeter, and was a member of Esther Missionary Circle for over 50 years. She retired from the Milwaukee Public School System with over 25 years of service. In her leisure, she enjoyed bowling and traveling. In her nineties, she found a new passion, which was art. Her many artistic endeavors are on display to this very day in her den. Saturdays were her favorite day in which she would watch cowboys all day. Every Thanksgiving and Christmas, she looked forward to spending the holiday with her son and daughter-in-law in California and the last three years in Las Vegas. Antoinette was a loving, vibrant individual who held a great passion for people and life. She was a past Matron of Haromy Chapter #3 OEs and Zembo Court # 130 Daughters of Isis. She was a member and treasurer of the Les Pensurette ocial Club for over 25 years. Antionette Manisonia Patterson departed this life on January 22, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zack; son, Johnny Harold; sisters, Alma Mangrum, Margaret Miller, Bessie Mae Hollis, Emma Jane Arrington, and her twin, Pearl Lassiter Cooke; granddaughter, Antoinette (Toni) Patterson; grandsons, Johnny Harold Jr. and Yaphet Kareem; and niece, Patricia Strong. She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted son, Michael; one daughter- in-law, Diane; grandsons, Gregory (Tabetha) Mackey, Terrance Patterson, Michael Amil Patterson and Gerard Greene; special niece who was like a daughter, Mary Crumble (Benjamin); niece, Yvonne Foster; one sister-in-law, Sadie Patterson; nephew, Marshall (Ruth) Cooke; goddaughter, S. Pearl Sharp; and a host of great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a wealth of friends.
