Ms. Ayesha Mahmoud

Ayesha Mahmoud was born "Verastine Robertson". She was born on May 27, 1944, to the union of Enwood and Luvennia Robertson in Hernando, MS. Ayesha attended Story Elementary School and West Division High School in Milwaukee, WI. She accepted Christ at a young age. In 1973, she joined the Nation of Islam. She returned to her religious upbringing in 2008, right here at Greater Galilee Baptist Church. She was a loving mother of three children, Kim, Timothy, and Angela. When she met and married her soulmate, Riza Mahmoud, on January 23, 1975, their union was blessed with another son, Riza Ibn Mahmoud. Ayesha earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree and worked many years in the medical field. She worked at Beloit Clinic and Beloit Memorial Hospital in Beloit, WI. She returned to Milwaukee and worked many years as a medical paralegal at Hausmann, McNally & Hupy. Ayesha owned a daycare, was a personal care worker, a foster mother to more than 15 children, and a mother figure and grandmother to many. She also worked at Milwaukee County/Froedtert Memorial Hospital as a phlebotomist. Ayesha was a jack of all trades, but her utmost skills or calling was a caregiver. In her leisure time she enjoyed she enjoyed family gatherings. She was an avid sports enthusiast. She enjoyed football, basketball, baseball, and even golf. Her ultimate all-time favorite sport, without a doubt, was tennis. She loved tennis and the William sisters. Her other favorite pastime was bingo. Ayesha and her crew could be found at a bingo session in work mode; it was "all business". She has taken everyone at least once. Ayesha Mahmoud was preceded in death by: husband, Riza Mahmoud; son, Timothy Jines; parents, Enwood and Luvennia Robertson; four sisters, Verline Harris, Luvennia Salaam, Juanita Hasan, and Celestine Beauchamp; two brothers, Benson Robertson and Rahman Ali (Enwood Robertson Jr.); great-grandson, Noah Studs; ; Niece JaDawn Muhammad and Nephew Torian Edwards; Eddie Jines and Herbert Williams; and her bingo buddy Edna Lewis. She leaves to cherish her memory: three children, Kim R. Jines, Angela (Jessie) Deberry, and Riza Ibn Mahmoud; bonus daughter, Deneau Brown-Jones; two sisters, Annette Reynolds and Curtixine (James) Muhammad; fourteen grandchildren Shahida, JoNeesha, Taraeh, Timothy, Benjamin, Jalen, Lalia, Amanda, Shanette (Maurri Sr.) , Jesse Jr.. Simone, Tatiana, Blake and Bryce; Ten great grandchildren Kilia, Kivia, Dar'i, Arianna, Maurri Jr.. Ayendi, Zayden, King Noah, Harmonii and Za'Lea; her bingo crew, Frances Johnson; nieces, Sandra Edwards-Jones and Marnita Hasan; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
