Mrs. Barbara C. Howze

Barbara Claire Howze was born on April 26,1935 to the union of Henry and Mattie George Sanders in Milwaukee, WI. She received her formal education from Milwaukee Public Schools where she graduated from North Division High School. On April 30th 1955 she was joined in holy matrimony to Ulysses Howze and from this union came five children Elnora, Jeffrey, JoAnne, Elston and Ruth. Barbara started her career at First Bank Milwaukee, where she retired after approximately 18 years. Barbara accepted Christ at a young age at St. Matthews Church and later joined Gospel Lutheran Church where she actively served in the Gospel Choir and other ministries until her health started to decline. Barbara's faith was strong and she knew The Lord was her strength and her Savior. Barbara was a very kind, loving and caring Mother, Grandmother, Great-grandmother, Wife, and Aunt. She enjoyed listening to a variety of music, knitting, reading, traveling, and gardening. In her youth she enjoyed dancing in high school and also was a member of the Lapham Park Social Center's Modern Dance Group. She especially cherished spending time with her family, often around the kitchen table, laughing and talking about any and everything. Barbara believed in "The Four Agreements" as stated in the book of the same name by Ruiz that says: l, Be impeccable with your word. 2. Don't take anything personally. 3. Don't Make assumptions. 4. Always do your best. Barbara was born into eternal life of July 10, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Mattie George Sanders, husband Ulysses Howze, son Jeffrey Howze, 2 brothers Henderson (Diane Sanders, George (Beverly) Sanders, dear cousin Marion Dennison, and a host of loving in-laws. She leaves to cherish her memory her children Elnora (Barrie) Franklin, JoAnne Howze (Anthony Bland), Elston (Sylvia) Howze, Ruth (Bernard) Hoskins. Grandchildren: Joelyn Howze (Robert Davis), Matt Abrams II (Rachel Carter), Ashley (Tony) Anderson, Rebecca Hoskins, Latoya Broaden, LaRaydo (Lauren) Satterfield, Kaleb Howze. Great grandchildren: Canon Satterfield, Jensen Carter-Abrams, Yumi Anderson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed.
