Ms. Betty Jean Alderson

: Betty Jean Alderson was born in Mt. Willie, Arkansas on August 25, 1938 to the union of Walter Alderson Sr. and Orabell (Gathright) Alderson. She was the oldest of six children. Betty received her formal education and graduated from Mt. Holly High School in Mt. Holly, Arkansas. She was the lead player on the girls high school basketball team and received many athletics awards. Betty confessed her rove for the Lord and became a member of Mt. Willie Baptist Church in Mt. Willie, Arkansas where she was a member of the church choir. Betty was blessed with one son, Mr. Thomas Alderson. Betty later moved .to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in the year of 1962. She united with Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church on March 10, 1968 and joined the church Gospel Chorus using that melodious alto voice that she had. She pad a gift for cooking and also enjoyed cooking at Metropolitan for families repast, church anniversaries and other occasions. Betty worked for Marquette University as a custodian, General Split Leather Tannery and later became employed by the Briggs and Stratton Company until her retirement. In her leisure, Betty enjoyed cooking and inviting family, friends and church members to her home for dinner as well as cooking meals whenever anyone asked her to do so. She was very kind hearted and. giving. If someone didn't have all the items for the meal that she had to prepare, she would just prepare it with love and compassion arid made sure they received it. She is also remembered for cooking for her family in her early years of life before leaving Mt. Willie, Arkansas. Betty became home bound but that did not stop her from cooking and doing what she could when she could. With every visit that was made with Betty you .could always hear her singing a hymn or gospel song that she loved., Betty closed her eyes and took flight to eternal life to be with her Lord on Monday April 6, 2015 at Golden Living Center. Betty leaves to cherish her memories, her devoted son, Thomas Alderson; brothers; Johnnie (Bedesa) Alderson of Dorado, CA and Walter (Mae Frances) Alderson, Jr. of Dallas, TX; sisters, Doris Alderson of Milwaukee, WI and Shirley Green of Eldorado, AK; granddaughter, Ashley Hardy; great-granddaughter, Lauren Hardy; nephew, Eric Alderson of Milwaukee, WI; Goddaughters, Tiffany Williams and Anissa Parker; Godsons, Ricky (Sherrie) Jewel and Rickie Davis; nephew, Eric Alderson; special sister, Cynthia Cole of Phoenix, AZ; special Godsons, Pete Manning, Rick Thompson, Donald (Arrnetia) Henderson, Hollis Howard and James (Lisa) Buchanan; and a host of other family members and dear friends.
