Mother Betty Joe Martin

Mother Betty J. Martin was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on October 14, 1950, to the late Frank Harris and Earselean Crawford. She received her formal education through the Milwaukee Public School System. graduating from Rufus King High School .. After high school. Betty continued her education and earned her law degree from Marquette University. She later worked as a Civil Rights Advocate and spent more than 30 years serving the State of Wisconsin as an Executive Administrator in business. She was also an Equal Rights Advocate and, during the late 1960s and early 1970s. served as a Charter Member of the NAACP alongside Father James E. Groppi. Betty was a fighter-she marched to Washington, D.C., and several other cities standing. for justice and equality. She also rode her motorcycle and was a proud member of the Midnight Creepers Motorcycle Club alongside her husband, Charles. Betty accepted the Lord into her heart and lived faithfully by His word until her passing. She was a devoted wife to her dear husband, Charles T. Martin, for 42 years. Betty was known as a strong. determined, and dedicated woman who possessed unshakable faith. She was a woman of compassion, and love who helped and mentor countless people. She had a kind heart and a giving spirit. In her leisure time, she enjoyed cooking and feeding the homeless. She served faithfully as the Church Mother of First African Memorial Baptist Church, later moving her membership to Prayer House of Faith Ministries under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Dale Grayson, where she remained until God called her home. Betty leaves with peace and love in her heart leaving behind her loving children: Terrence (Katie) Martin, Tytree (Keshia) Martin, and Jamiliah (8arretta) Criswe.tl; her devoted grandchildren: Ashley, Mirade, Kamarri, Notkia, Queisha, Andrea, Ty, Teanna, Terrance Jr., Teairaha, Jazz, Brandon, Teyasia, TaNeece. Iyesha, Kamiyah, Jamar, Javon, and Aerion; and 13 precious great-grandchildren. Her love extended to her siblings: Lisa Campbell, Ladonna Crawford, Ricky Crawford, Clyde Crawford, and Pastor Dale Grayson, along with a host of other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory forever. Betty was met at Heaven's Gates by her husband, Charles T. Martini her parents, Frank Harris and Earselean Crawford; two of her children, Tamara Stewart and Romen Terry; her grandparents; her sisters, Lily Bridges, Deborah Crawford, Faye Carleton, and Patricia Robinson; her brothers, Lawrence East, Michael Crawford. and Keith Crawford; her daughter-in-law, Stephanie Robinson Martini and her son-in-law, Vincent Stewart.
