Mr. Booker Terry Scull Jr.

Booker Terry Scull, Jr. quietly slipped into peaceful and eternal rest at the age of 83 years old surrounded by and lovingly cared for by the staff of Close to Home Assisted Living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 2, 2020. He was born on July 30,1938, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Booker Terry Scull, Sr. and Naomi Ruth Scott-Scull. Early in life he moved from the South to the Midwest and settled in Milwaukee. Booker worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant, skillfully earning and retiring with a promotion and title of Psychiatric Aide 3 after 34 years of employment with Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex. Booker joyfully confessed and professed his hope, faith, and love in Christ and started both his discipleship and membership at Faithful Mission Pentecostal Church in the 1980's under the leadership of his beloved cousin, Pastor Ernestine (Ginncev) Glisper Burke. Later in life, he was connected in active membership with Sychar non-denominational church and faithful attendance at Bradford Memorial A.M.E. Church right up to the start of his unfortunate illness. Booker Terry Scull Jr. was united in holy matrimony with Velma Lillian Crymes on February 24th, 1982, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Booker enjoyed singing (whenever he thought no one was listening) going both to the "Senior" happy hour (that's between the hours of8 am to 10 am) and thrifting at the "Goody Store" (Goodwill) with his doting wife, Velma, and anyone else who wanted to tag along! He also enjoyed watching a variety of TV programs, such as In Touch with Dr. Charles Stanley, Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy, old Western movies, and even PBS programming, all while eating ice cream and cookies. Most of all, he loved reading, learning, teaching, and sharing God's Word. Booker loved the Lord and Savior and wanted every last person he knew, loved, and encountered, including strangers, to know and love the Lord. He often blessed them with the gift of one of his most beloved and cherished scriptures; John 3: 16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that who so ever believed in Him would not perish but have everlasting life. Booker is preceded in death by his parents, Booker Terry Scull, Sr., and Naomi Ruth Scott-Scull; his beloved wife, Velma; and his four cherished sisters. Booker Scull is survived by his 7 children: Nanette Peoples (Jimmy), Jacqueline Scull, Gwendolyn Scull, Booker Terry Scull, III (Lillian), Sharon Scull, Richard Scull, and Anita Scull; 22 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; 13 surviving siblings: seven brothers, Charles O. Scull Sr. of Gary, IN, Robert L. Scull (Levita) or Little Rock, AR, Roy L. Scull (Tammy) of Arlington, TX, Marion Spriggs (Debra) of Tulsa, OK, Melvin Spriggs (Sheryl) of Tulsa, OK, Clarence Hall of Little Rock, AR and Larry Briggs of Fort Worth, TX; six sisters: Betry Scull of Little Rock, AR, Floristeen Scull of De Soto, TX, Catherine Glymph (Leroy) of Pine Bluff, AR, Lillie Scull of Little Rock, AR, Shirley Bryant (Charles) of Little Rock, AR and Amanda Harris of Tulsa, OK; five bonus children, 13 bonus grandchildren, 23 bonus great-grandchildren, two bonus great, great-grandsons, a bonus daughter in-law, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, great-nephews, cousins, and other loving extended family, and dear friends.
