Mrs. Carrie Turner

We loved her in this earthly life, but the other day, she entered into the gates of thanksgiving and the courtyards of praise! As she approached the mansion adorned with a splendor that only the Lord would give to one of His faithful and humbly servants. She stepped across the threshold called death, but it was only a step into the fellowship with Christ Jesus to a room fixed with perfection by our Heavenly Father. Let us be reminded that she has journeyed from a place of Christian suffrage yet graciously welcomed by the Master. "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning" Carrie Turner was called from labor to reward Monday, November 23, 2015. The noise of the world makes it hard for us to bear the still voice beyond the door... let us rejoice and be glad as heaven smiled upon her entry and her suffering on earth is no more. Carrie Neyland was born December 25, 1944 in Centerville, Mississippi to the union of, the late Deacon Milton and Cassie Neyland. She was the third child of twelve. She was the oldest daughter. Carrie was reared in a loving Christian home that was centered on the book of Joshua 24: 15 "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Her parents instilled in her the fear and admiration of God as she confessed Jesus Christ as her Lord at an early age. Carrie was baptized at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Centerville, Mississippi where she began a life of Christian faith to Almighty God.' , In 1961, Carrie met her prince charming, Joe Lee Turner of Magnolia, Mississippi, thanks to Milton Neyland Jr. Did she ever repay you for that Milton? The two married June 30, 1963 and relocated to New Orleans, Louisiana. Here is where there life began. She followed her soulmate to New Hope Baptist Church, New Orleans, Louisiana and pastored by the late Reverend Freddie H. Dunn. "For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God." Having a business spirit Carrie had a vision to start a Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF). She named the company C & Z Homecare, Ine. This represented Carrie and her daughter Zenither. They specialized in providing care for individuals who were disabled, elderly and mentally challenged for 17 years. During this time the. Association for Northwest Advancement presented Joe & Carrie with the B~~utification Award for outstanding commitment to beautifying the Northwest Community. During her last hour on this side of heaven, she laughed, talked about her family (ribbed) and made plans for Thanksgiving dinner. Her greatest concern was where is Abbey's diaper bag and bottles; she thought that she was going to watch her great-granddaughter. Carrie Turner's loved ones who preceded herin entering the precious gates were, mother and father Deacon Milton and Cassie Neyland; son, Ken Curtis Turner; siblings, Prince Neyland, BettyNeyland, and Roy Neyland; and father-in-law, Aisom Turner. . Those she leaves to cherish her memories: a loving and devoted husband, Joe Lee Turner, one ,daughter, Zenither Turner-Jones (Stanley), one son, Sedrick Joe Turner Grandchildren, Alfred (Kwashon) Joseph Travis,Ciarra Victoria Turner, Walter Lee Sims, Mikeshia Morrison, Sedrick Williams, Breanna Kirk, Ahdream Turner, Justin Turner, Kendall Turner; Great-Grandchildren, D'Zyiah Kwashon Travis, Kendez, Keneil, Keniya, and Kenzel Turner, Keni, Kendashia, Jayden and, Abby Morrison.Siblings, Gladys Nelson, Yvonne Van Norman, DianeMartin ( ), Dyker Neyland, Milton, Jimmie, David, and Larry Neyland and a whole-host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.' The most important virtues we can fondly remember about Carrie Neyland was that she loved the Lord, her family and any I mean anyone that came in contact with her. They were truly welcomed with opened arms.
