Mrs. Catherine Hamilton-Davis

Catherine Hamilton - Davis was born on December 27, 1932, in Brewton, Alabama to David and Laura Hamilton. At the age of 7 the family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At an early age she received Christ as her lord and savior attending Tabernacle Community Baptist Church she later joined The Word Center Family Church where she was a devoted member. She received her formal education at Lincoln High School. She was an elite player for the Wildcats Women's Basketball team. Catherine better known to everyone as Miss Catt was more than a virtuous woman. She was united in holy matrimony with Lishbourne Davis in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was employed by Pabst Brewery for 28 years until she retired .. Catt had an extraordinary work ethic coupled with a soft and compassionate heart. After retirement she worked part time as an elderly companion, and an infant daycare provider. She was President and faithful member of Creamettes, a social club that helped families in need. In her leisure time she enjoyed western movies, Lifetime movies, and country music, Charlie Pride was her favorite singer, as she would often sing along while watching and listening to him. She spent great times with her best friends Ernestine Grady and Ann Bozeman. She was the QUEEN of bingo and all card games. She had many bingo parties and she won all the prizes. She most enjoyed spending time or talking on the phone to family and friends. Always keeping a well-maintained home and a sense of style that was phenomenal. She was always jazzy with her clothes, purses, accessories, fragrances, and shoes to set off every outfit. Catt was our HERO! She was young at heart, those who know her, know that she had a great sense of humor and would crack jokes to have everyone laughing. Many of our friends became her friends too. We would find her talking on the phone to everyone we talked to. It was not unusual to see Catt driving herself to rummage sales, doctor appointments, church, and where ever else she wanted to go. She was 86 years young and looked as such. Better than wine she got better with time. August of 2018 her health started to change. As a family she prepared us about the living God that could do all things but fail... .. so we prayed, and God took care of Catt until calling her home for final rest. Catt spend her final days with an outpouring of love and encouragement from her family and friends. On Friday, November 29, 2019, Catt departed this life. She was reunited in heaven with, husband, Lishbourne Davis; parents, David and Laura Hamilton; son, Rodney Hamilton; brother, David Hamilton [r., sisters, Annie (Archie) Kennedy, Luella Thrasher, and Annie (Cleothus) Smtih; and special cousin, Geraldine Slay. She leaves to cherish her legacy of love and kindness: children, Gaynell (james) Kinnebrew, Judy (Richard) Krujawski, Pamela (Robert Mark) Jefferson, Nadyne Hamilton- Davis, and Wendell Hamilton- Davis; adored grandchildren, Cherie Kinnebrew, Danita Briggs, Devon Hamilton, Jacob Kinnebrew, Gregory Hamilton, Ashanti Hamilton, Brian Hutchinson, Gabriel Kujawski, Anthony Kujawski, Brittany Kujawski, Cassandra Whitmore, Katryn Jefferson, and Lanise Williams; treasured great grandchildren, Joshua Gee, Elijah Briggs, Nasir Briggs, Devon Hamilton [r., Dyland Hamilton, Shawn Hamilton, DeAundre Hamilton, Nehemiah Jefferson- McNair, Jaden Jefferson- McNair, and Amirah Briggs; two life long friends, Ernestine Grady and Ann Bozeman; a host of nieces, nephews, family, church family, and friends.
