Ms. Cheryl Lavon Hunt

A Mother. An Educator. A Beautiful Soul. heryl Hunt, a remarkable Black Queen who recently departed this life after an enduring battle with Cancer. She's leaving behind a legacy that resonates through the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. Cheryl, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and an integral part of the Milwaukee Community. She dedicated her life to nurturing and safeguarding the well being of those around her. Cheryl was born on August 1, 1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to loving parents Raymond and Katherine Hunt. She was the second oldest of seven children. Cherly death was preceded by her parents, long life champion; Shadric Brown, brothers; Roual Hunt Sr., Mark Hunt and Raymond Hunt Ir., sister; Terry Edwards, sister-in-law; Patricia Hunt, granddaughter; Aubree Harris, nephew; Todd Hunt, daughter-in-law; Mary Reed and bonus son; James Perry. Cheryl attended Rufus King High School and later pursued her education at Milwaukee Technical College. Her commitment to education laid the foundation for her lifelong passion for fostering the growth and development of young minds. Cheryl's journey as an early childhood educator spanned over 35 years with SDC Head Start, where she left a mark on generations of children who had the privilege of being under her care. Family was at the core of Cheryl's existence. Cheryl and Eugene Harris, shared 30 years of marriage, creating a loving home for their five children ... Eugene Harris J r., Leemoro Harris (Latoya Harris), Theodeous Harris (Regina Harris), Aqana Harris-Franklin (Stacey Franklin), and Tomorrow Harris as well as their bonus children; Candace Hunt, Carla McPhan, Raymond Hunt III, Devon Brown and Demetrious Brown. Known affectionately as the neighborhood mother, Cheryl took on a pivotal role in her community, working tirelessly to ensure the safety and well being of the next generation. Her caring and loving nature extended beyond the boundaries of her own family, making her a trusted and revered figure in the hearts of those who knew her in Milwaukee. Cheryl is survived by her children, Eugene Harris, sisters; Bonnie Jackson and Renee Hunt, brother; Alex Ferra, sister-in-law; Denise Hunt, best friends; Joann Towsend, Vera Ford and Annie Cooper. Cheryl's legacy is not only reflected in the love and wisdom she impacted on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren but also in the countless lives she touched as a pillar of strength in her community. Her 18 grandchildren; Miya, Amber, Shaina, Tomorrow jr., Rena, Cherish, Jacoby, Theodeous jr., Dion, Trevonte, Kiemonte, Tamari, Makayla, Rhyane, Today, Tristan, Natalie, Sarrayand 15 great-grandchildren; Ahmiyah, Damyian, Major, Aaliyah, Ashanti, Kynnidi, D'Lawn, Keri, Kassidi, Taylan, Tyden, Taleah, Dion jr., Jahuire, Delilah are testaments to the profound impact she had on the expansive family she nurtured and cherished. Cheryl's impact went beyond the confines of her home and the classroom; she was an active member of Mount Horeb Baptist Church, where she served as a mother to the congregation. Her spiritual guidance and unwavering support enriched the lives of many, creating a sense of community and belonging. As we bid farewell to Cheryl Hunt, we remember her as a beacon of love, resilience, and compassion. Her spirit lives on in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy serves as a source of inspiration for all who strive to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
