Mr. Claude Douglas Dismuke

Claude Douglas Dismuke was born to Henrietta and Isiah Dismuke in Hot Springs, Arkansas on February 10, 1954. Claude was called home to glory on December 6, 2024. He was introduced to Jesus Christ, our Lord at the early age of 7 years. Claude was the third oldest siblings of five brothers and sisters and a brother to a life- long best friend, Cary Edwards. Claude loved his family and best friend, Cary. He was a protector of those he loved and a joy to those who had the privilege to know him. The love of Jesus Christ and being devoted to his beloved mother meant the world to Claude. In 1973, Claude graduated from Washington High School located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Claude was humorous yet a serious student who loved learning new things. Claude, along with his best friend, Cary enjoyed showcasing their talents. You could call them the dynamic duo. They grew and learned from each other, especially in the creative arts of film-making. Claude was inspired by world renowned Hollywood photographers, producers, film-makers such as Gordon Parks and Melvin Van Pebbles. Both Claude and Cary shared a special bond as life- long friends. They shared a special language that only Claude and Cary knew and understood. This bond launched Claude's interests in Film-making and Photography. Claude's keen sense of awareness, intellect and creative arts skills was the bond that sealed their life-time friendship. In 1970 Claude along with his best friend Cary Edwards started working and learning the art of film- making and photography at the Milwaukee Inner City Arts Film Workshop. In 1972 Claude won 1 st place in a national competition of the Kodak Teenage Film Awards. Claude's award led him to be showcased on the nationally televised TV show, The Mike Douglas Show in New York City. Claude put his all into his interests, family and friends. This would also include health and fitness. He loved exercising. In order to keep up with the news of the day as a production assistant and photojournalist with WISN-TV 12 in Milwaukee, WI., Claude worked out on a regular basis. Claude will be missed by everyone he loved and loved him. Claude was preceded in death by his father, Isiah Dismuke; mother, Henrietta Dismuke; sisters, Brenda Lee Champion; Linda Marie Rogers; brother, John Junior Dismuke. Claude leaves to cherish his memories; sisters, Alice Brown of Dallas, TX and Sharon Moore- Dismuke of Dallas, TX; children; Shawn Williams, Johnathan Sinclair Dismuke, and David Douglas Dismuke; grandchildren; Andrea Dotson, Jennifer Torres, Shaquan Williams, Trevon Smith, Nasir Wartchow, Kareema Wartchow, Constantine Wartchow, Isaac Dismuke, and a host of nieces and nephews. Also cherished in his memory is lifetime brother and friend, Cary (Bonnie) Edwards.
