Clotee Phinisee Thompson "Tee Tee" Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. - I Corinthians 13:4 "God in His Infinite Wisdom Gave Our Mother Her Wings" Clotee Phinisee Thompson made her transition to a peaceful place, free of pain, suffering and confusion at 4:45 p.m., on Wednesday, October 21,2020. Her wings were ready; our hearts were not. Born on April 16, 1930, in Washington County, Mississippi, Clotee was the eldest of seven children born to Leaford (Nick) and Betty Henry Phinisee. Clotee confessed Christ and was baptized at an early age. Migrating from the southern to northern states, upon arriving in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, she became a faithful and dedicated member of St. Mary's Baptist Church, where the late Reverend James A. Lathan was her pastor for over thirty years. On her Christian journey, she fellowshipped and joined several churches, including New Restoration Church under the leadership of Pastor Wesley Carter. Her faith and commitment to God was demonstrated by her unconditional love for others and her unyielding service on numerous church committees. Clotee graduated from Simmons High School in Hallandale, Mississippi. She enhanced her education by enrolling in Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), receiving an Associate Degree in one of her hobbies, Calligraphy Handwriting. Her love for people and compassion for children was demonstrated by the employment opportunities she undertook. She worked as an assistant to the X-Ray Technician at St. Joseph Hospital for many years. Later, resigning from the medical field and becoming a librarian for the Milwaukee Public School System until her retirement. "All That We Love Deeply, Becomes a Part of Us" - Helen Keller The love she had for family and friends could not supersede the love of her life, her husband for 49 years, Walter F. Thompson, Sr. Married on December 25, 1948. To this union, five children were born, four sons and one daughter. Affectionately called "Tee Tee" by her first grandchild and other grandchildren thereafter, she loved to entertain guests at her home. She loved preparing everyone's favorite meals, going fishing, and traveling with family and friends. Her greatest attribute was the love she exhibited towards others. "Tee Tee's" witty sense of humor, lovely smile and contagious laughter will be remembered by all whose lives she so gently touched along her journey. In the stillness of the day she loved listening to gospel music. It gave her peace while placing joy in her soul. She was preceded in death by both parents, her husband, a son, Bishop D.C Thompson; four siblings, Nick, Jr. Marion, & Henrene Phinisee, Florida Zolicoffer; and two grandsons, Jeffrey Dyes, and Larry (Jody) Jenkins. She leaves to cherish her memory: two siblings, one sister, Roeshella Lipsey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and one brother, Joe Phinisee of on Mississippi; three sons, Walter & Larry Thompson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Vincent (Vickie) Thompson of Dallas, Texas; one daughter, Sharon R. Thompson of Memphis, Tennessee; nine grandchildren, Meko, Alexis, Cory, Chris, Jameshia, Shavonda Antoine) Coleman, Precious, Dr. Dwain (Deaundra) Thompson, Jr., and Marvelle (Irkeshia) Boegetter; twenty-five great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law, Pastor Cheryl Thompson of Dallas, Texas; one sister-in-law, Mable Thompson of Milwaukee, 'Wisconsin; a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and special fond relatives, Minister James (Verdis) Brown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
