Mr. Dan Terry Wilks

Dan T Wilks was born October 4, 1935 to the union James (Jim) Wilks and Eula Dodd Wilks in Kosciusko, Mississippi. His parents loved him deeply and he was most definitely was a "Mama's Boy". Dan T. Wilks accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at Isom Memorial C.M.E. Church. He later united with New Life Kingdom Ministries International Milwaukee, Wisconsin, under the leadership of Pastors Guy & Debora ( His Daughter) Taylor. Dan received his formal education at the New Garden School in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Dan's life was forever changed when he met the love of his life, Minnie Lee Wytch (Peller). They were united in holy matrimony and although they were later divorced, he would say, " I have only had one wife". Their union was blessed with five children. Through life's transition Dan met Linda Key, she was the mother of his youngest SOIL Dan was employed at FALK Corporation, where he retired after many years of service. Dan was fondly known as "Poppa Cat" to many people. Poppa loved people and was very kind hearted. He loved his family. Dan had a special bond with his daughter and son in law Debora and Guy as well as his Grandchildren, Nyshi and Dominique. His special love was for his Great Granddaughter, My 'Asha (Mya). Poppa lived in Jackson, Michigan for a short time, while there he began to face significant health challenges. Poppa was so blessed, his oldest sister Maxine Bridges along with her children provided him with excellent care until his return home to live with his children. Poppa Cat had a sweet tooth and would secretly pass candy around the church to the children, youth and the adults. He loved cooking, hunting, fishing, motorcycles, home improvement, working on cars and the outdoors. He was an original member The Mighty Rams MCC. Dan Terry Wilks (Poppa Cat) departed this life Monday October 19,2015 at C0l11111Unity Memorial Hospital in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. When he arrived at the heavenly gates, truly one of the jewels that the Lord will place in the interior of his crown would represent "Unconditional Love". If angel wings were given out for unconditional love, his family and friends would tell the Lord Jesus Christ to give him a couple of wings. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. He leaves to cherish his precious memories according to Dan his one and only wife, Minnie L. Peller Carson of CA; Son, James Terry (Sonia) Wilks of Vacaville, CA; Daughters, Debora (Guy) Taylor of Collierville , TN, Annette Wilks of Carson City CA, Therese Wilks of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Oldest Sister, Maxine Bridges of Jackson Michigan; Twelve Grandchildren, Nyshi Taylor, Dominique Taylor, Joshua Wilks, Michael Wilks, Peter Wilks, Nicholas Wilks Thompson, Aneisha Henderson, Bria Wilks, Quinn Wilks Terris Key Jr., Tramon Key and Tamirah Key; five Great Grandchildren, MyAsha Taylor, Ta'Niyah Key, Taya Barry, Tate Wilks and Janya Henderson; and a host of other loving relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim Wilks and Eula Dodd Wilks; Brother, James Wilks; Sister, Joan Ashford; Sons, Ronnie Donald Wilks and Terris (Lil Terry) Key.
