Mrs. Deborah Ann Richardosn-Stokes

Deborah Ann Richardson-Stokes was born on December 15,1958 in Chicago, IL to loving parents; Lonnie M. Rodgers and Isaac Richardson Sr. She was introduced to her "closest friend" when she invited Jesus Christ into her heart at an early age. Living with sickle cell anemia presented challenges, but with every "no" Deborah said, "I will do anything through Chris Jesus who strengthens me." This disease didn't run her, she commanded it. As a young lady, Deborah fell in love and married Robert Lee Stokes Sr. Their union was blessed with three wonderful children; Monique, Robert Jr., and Robbiel. She cherished them with "every beat" of her heart. They were truly the "sunshine of her life". Deborah made it her business to be strong and independent. She had so many hopes, dreams and plans. One of the highest accomplishments was going back to school to complete her diploma. She always practiced what she preached. She made the most of her "good days" and enjoyed having a good time. She became a mentor to many people without even trying to. They were drawn to her youthful spirit and unconditional love. She didn't hesitate to "speak her mind", with her having this nice, but nasty and classy attitude. She loved music, movies, men, playing cards and spending time with her family. On Saturday May 7, 2016, God called Deborah Ann Richardson- Stokes home. She was preceded in death by both parents Lonnie (Narcellous) Rodgers and Isaac (Emegene) Richardson Sr., brothers, Ronnie and Isaac Richardson Jr. and Jerry Harper; one sister, Yvette Tucker, and one grandson, Cornelius Jackson Jr. She leaves to cherish precious memories: one daughter, Monique (Jimmie Sr.) Gray; two sons, Robert Jr. and Robbiel Stokes; twelve grandchildren; Byron Mitchell [r, Neairis and Deairis Jackson, Jimmie Jr. and Deja Gray, Reauna, Santiauna, Dere'ana, Robyn, Robbiel [r., Khamari and Lorenzo Stokes; four great-grandchildren, DeNijah, Byron III, Breon Mitchell, Lakhiya Byrd; three siblings, James Harper of Milwaukee, WI, Brenda (Jerry Sr.) Murphy of Stone Mountain, GA and Nicole (Derek) Blue of Chicago, IL; one aunt, Laura Hardy and uncle James Tillis of Ms. Best Friend, Bridget Robinson; three God children, Lakronna Cresswell, Rochester Purnell, and Towan Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, special daughters, sons, and friends.
