Mr. Donghee Wilbon Jr.

Donghee Wilbon Sr. and Katherine Ryles of Magnolia, Arkansas delivered Donghee Wilbon Jr. (Pal Jr.) on Novemer 16, 1934. He was the oldest of their four children. He was affectionately known as "Husband", "Father", "Grandpa", "Poppy", "Daddy, "Paw Paw, "Ole Skool" and "Uncle Wilbut". Donghee, knew the Lord. He served as a Deacon at St. Luke Emmanuel Baptist Church of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Donghee Wilbon Jr. was a highly decorated United States Army Veteran who served during the South Korean War. He was an Infantry Mechanic and Honor Guard before achieving the rank of Sergeant. His life of service and dedication to family and community has been an inspiration to all those who knew him. During the time he served he married the love of his life Viney Newton on October 26th, 195--1, and together they celebrated 69 years of a beautiful marriage. To this union six wonderful children were born Vernice, Debra, Donita, Katherine, Donghee ill, and Darryl. He worked as a Butler for a family in Fort Smith, Arkansas and then relocated his family to Wisconsin in 1965 in pursuit of a better life. His career spanned nearly 40 years, first at Alii Chalmers and then Milwaukee Forge as a machinist/hammer man, In his leisure, Donghee was an active member in many pool and bowling leagues, where he won numerous awards, and accolades}. He also enjoyed playing dominos with his host of family member and friends. After his retirement in 1996 he ergoyed spending time with his family and friends, cooking (especially hi black-eyed peas), watching his 'westerns and wrestling. He loved walking and being active, Donghee was truly a man that enjoyed life. He loved [0 make you laugh and make you feel good about yourself. He was a good husband who cared for his wife Viney up until the time he no longer could, Donghee had a few partners in crime and the family would be remised if they were not mentioned: Raymond, Arthur, Doc, Mad Dog, Smokey, James P. Dixon, Curtis, Alley Car, _lac, Gil and Edward. Donghee's commitment to work, family, and community have been a model of excellence and his legacy will live on in his many friends and relatives. His philosophy of life; that he frequently quoted was; "You only live life once, you gotta make the best of it while you are on this earth" Donghee was loved and he will be greatly missed, he departed this life on Thursday, March 9th, 2023. Gone before him, were his father; Donghee Wilbon Sr, stepfather; William Ryle , brother; J.W., daughter; Vemice Wilbon, his mother; Katherine Ryle granddaughter Donise "Noopty" Wilbon, and brother-in-law; Bill Dunlap. He leaves to cherish his memories , wife; Viney, and five children; Debra (john James), Donita, Katherine of Conyers, GA. Donghee III (Robin), Darryl (Tessa) twelve grandchildren' Leila, Dontae, Destin, Ashley, Jasmine, Brittany - Decatur GA; April and Ebony, Alexis, Dai'janise - Kansas City, MO., Tyesha, La'Shelle fourteen great-grandchildren; A'Mari, Faith, Samuel III, Cameron - Decatur, GA., Marie, Destini, Dah'Nyla - Decatur, GA., Amiyah.Jaleigha, Emery, Taelyr, Shawneil Jr., Jacoby, and Liam; Sister Bernice Dunlap (Bill), brother Garvell E. Jackson of Sacramento, CA. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
