Mrs. Dorothy Louise Jones

Dorothy Louise Jones Sunrise: March 26, 1924 - Sunset: January 23, 2019 Dorothy L. Jones was born March 26, 1924 in Canton, Mississippi to the late Dewitt James and Ethel A. James. She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age at Lampton Chapel, A.M.E Church in Canton, Mississippi. She attended Cameron Street School and graduated from high school in Canton, Mississippi. Dorothy married Samuel K. Dadzie in 1951 in Canton, Mississippi. To this union was born Alverna E. Dadzie (jones). She later married George Lynell Jones. To this union they had three children. She was blessed to become a special mother to eight children, and a special aunt. Dorothy was employed at Canton Casket Factory where she was a seamstress sewing in the beautiful lining inside a casket. On a funny note, she would attend funerals and would not only view the person in the casket, but he would later talk about the type of casket and the different stitching that was involved in the design. Dorothy worked for Gimbels Department Store on Third Street, attaching the price tags to the clothing, while watching her on Marc play on the playground in elementary school. Dorothy was a long standing and faithful member of Canaan Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ada Circle, Mother's Board, Kitchen Committee, and a student in the best Sunday School Class #2. Dorothy leaves precious memories to one daughter, Alverna E. Dadzie (jones), three sons, Anthony Vincent (Donna) Jones, Ronald Tyrone (Venus) Jones and Marc Edwin Jones; special children, Rev. Dr. Fredrick (Marian) Jones, Dorothy (Sebastian) Bowie, JoAnnJones, Linda Lane, Barbara Mardis; two sisters, Lee Etta Clark and Verasteen (William Earl) Esco; nieces, Jarvis Jones, Lois Winters (Nell), and Brenda Jones; nephew, Louis Miller, just to name a few, several other nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends. Dorothy was proceeded in death by her father, mother, husband, pecial children, Shirley Kincaid, George L. Jones Jr., and James D. Jones. Dorothy doesn't want you to feel sad that she is gone because she truly enjoyed being with you while she was alive. She shared so many beautiful memories. She always looked forward to being in the arms of the Lord. Dorothy's favorite song was "Amazing Grace."
