Mrs. Dorothy Jean Williams-Rogers

Dorothy Anderson Williams Rogers was born November 27, 1953 in Leflore County, MS to the Late Sam and Besola Anderson. She attended and graduated from Leflore County High School in Itta Bena, MS. Dorothy accepted Christ as her savior at an early age at Morgan Chapel Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Reverend Willie Love, where she served as a faithful Sunday school teacher. She later moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and became a member of King Solomon Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Charles D. Watkins, where she was a faithful member. As a young woman, she relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She began employment and was a dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant for the Milwaukee Jewish Home (Ovation Jewish Home) for over forty-years; she retired in 2015. Dorothy was a very out-going person, everyone that knew her will always remember her gorgeous smile and her charming personality. Dorothy enjoyed life! In her leisure, she enjoyed visiting family and friends, traveling, dancing, listening to and attending blues concerts, cooking and playing bingo. She was an avid gardener arid had a green thumb for everything that she touched. Please let us not forget the unconditional love she had for her two sons; Chris' and 'Derek. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Besola Anderson; husbands, Alonzo Johnny Williams and, Charles Rogers; four sisters, Deloris Anderson Madalia, Elizabeth Anderson King, Emma Anderson Clay. and Atlean Anderson; two brothers, Eddie Anderson, Sr. and Sammie Lee Anderson and her beloved dog, "Rusty." On Friday, September 27, 2019, God whispered, "daughter come home." She closed her eyes and transitioned to her heavenly home. She leaves to cherish her fond memories; two sons, Christopher (Jackie) Anderson of Nesbit, MS and Derek Williams of Milwaukee, WI; four grandchildren, Autumn Christina Anderson of St. Cloud, Florida, Dniyah, Anayla and Royalty Williams of Milwaukee, WI; a special friend, John Prescott of Milwaukee, WI, a long time friend, Johnny "Suit" Williams of Cleveland, OH; four sisters, Leona Smith and Lillie Anderson of Milwaukee" WI; Charlena Green of Leland, MS and Rosie Hammond of Jackson, MS; five brothers, Jerry (Irene) Anderson and Tarz (Angie) Anderson of, Milwaukee, WI; Arthur Anderson, Leroy Anderson and William Anderson all of Moorhead, MS; one uncle, Leroy Nichols, Sr. of Milwaukee, WI, one aunt, Cornelia Douglas of Moorhead, MS; a godsister, Golda Wilson of Greenville, MS, a goddaughter, Renea Clarke and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and the King Solomon Baptist Church Family.
