MABEL BROWN AND JW AKINS (OF APPROX. 40 SIBLINGS) IN LAKE VILLAGE, AK, CHICOT COUNTY WHERE SHE WAS BAPTIZED AT AN EARLY AGE AT TI£ JERUSALEM BAPTIST CHURCH AND LIVED UNTIL AGE 12 OR 13. SHE RELOCATED TO CHICAGO, IL, WITH HER MOTI£R MABEL BROWN AND OTI£R SIBLINGS. SI£ RECEIVED HER FORMAL EDUCATION AT ZREZIN ORR HS ON CHICAGO'S WESTSIDE (CLASS OF 71'). CHICAGO IS WHERE SHE STARTED HER FAMILY CONSISTING OF TAMMIE JOHNSON, KINGSTON BROWN, CATHERINE BROWN, AIESHA BAKER, WILLIAM BROWN. OF THOSE 5 CHILDREN HER LINEAGE WAS BLESSED AND ENHANCED WITH 14 GRANDCHILDREN, 25 GREAT GRANDCHILDREN & 3 STEP GRANDCHILDREN. SOOK RELOCATED TO MILWAUKEE, WI IN 2000 TO BE WITH I£R GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GRANDCHILDREN. On March 2, 2026, Sook transitioned from this Earthly plane to take a place with her Lord and Savior & her parents Mabel Brown and JW Akins who preceded her in death. She was #6 of 9 children born to Mabel Brown and lout of approx. 40 children born to JW Akins. Soak was also preceded in death by siblings from Mabel Brown; Elizabeth Brown, Florida Jean Evans, Lonnie Mosely Jr, Jerry D Brown, Joyce Ann Brown and Baby Ricky, Grandson Tramell Brown. Of her many siblings with JW Sook developed a special bond with brother Jarvis Akins who also preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her 5 children Tammie Johnson, Kingston Brown, Catherine Brown, Aiesha Baker, William Brown, 2 sisters of Mabel Brown Armalean & Carolyn Brown, 13 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives including other siblings (too many to name) of JW Akins. She loved her grannies (great grannies as she called them), she was artistically and vocally talented, she passed on her artistic skills to some of her children and grandchildren, enjoyed crossword puzzles, her Pac-Man game and a good cold beer. Although Soak had her biological family, she created another family of people who lovingly called her "Mama", "Granny", and "Ms. Brown" through her interactions of feeding, housing and yes even cussing at them with love. She enjoyed feeding everyone and they enjoyed being fed by her. A day wasn't right if Soak didn't tell somebody off, cussing you out and then feeding you so that you got love from her heart and put in your place. 39th St won't be the same without seeing Sook hanging out her window like Pearl from 227 playing neighborhood watch. She loved who she loved but nothing compared to the love she had for her "Grannies". Ms. Eddie Mae Brown lived her life on her terms with few if any regret. Don't wonder how she felt about people in her life because if she didn't show it, she told you. She is resting and no longer in pain. To all her family and friends don't feel sad for her as she was blessed to see 3 generations before departing this Earth.
