Mr. Edward Lorenzo Young

Edward Lorenzo Young was born on July 7, 1954 to parents Frankie Mae Walton and Grover T. Young in Belzoni, Mississippi. Edward received his formal education at Palmer Elementary School and Lincoln Junior and Senior High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Edward attended Jordan Missionary Baptist Church, also in Milwaukee, under the leadership of Pastor John L. Reed, Sr. Edward served in the Army Reserve and worked at the Milwaukee Railroad until his health failed him. Edward was united in holy matrimony to Denise Royalty in Milwaukee, WI, and their union was blessed with one daughter. Edward met Rose Woods and was blessed with another daughter. He has four grandchildren who he loved very much. (one grandson deceased). He loved his family very much. In his leisure, Edward loved fishing, music, traveling and being with his friends and family. He loved calling his sisters, comparing the size of their fish to see whose was the largest. He was always a happy person, making friends wherever he went. He kept a big smile on his face all the time, always having you laughing at his little jokes. He loved dressing and calling himself M.C. Ren. Edward met Dorothy Flood, who he cherished and loved until his death. They were together for more than 38 years; he loved her son Isaiah (deceased) as his own child. Edward departed this life on February 5, 2021 in Mauston, Wisconsin. Preceding him in death was his parents, father Grover T. Young and mother Frankie M. Phillips; stepfather, Charles Phillips; grandson, Renzell Woods; one stepson, Isaiah Flood; brothers, James Young, Bennie Young, David Young and Robert Walton-Young; sister, Venola Lane; and close friend, Kemp Williams. Edward leaves to cherish his memory: his soulmate, Dorothy Flood; two daughters, Donielle Woods and Renise (Roland) Brown; three grandchildren, Jacoby and Rosjae Woods of Milwaukee, WI, and Tyrese Thomas of Atlanta, GA; three brothers, Fred (Louise) Young of Bellwood, IL, Charles and Isaac Phillips of Milwaukee, WI; five sisters, Mary Hill of Detroit, MI, Sharlene Young, Darlene (Rev. Robert) LaGrant, Belinda Jett, Gloria Phillips, all of Milwaukee, WI and Iphogenier Barry of Frisco, TX; sister-in-law, Earnestine Walton; special brother-in-law, Eugene Hill of Milwaukee, WI, who he always talked to about the old days; four very close friends, Joe Lawrence of Texas, James Goodman of Milwaukee, Nicholas Lewis of Las Vegas, NV and Dan Medearis of Camp Dallas, WI; two special nephews, James Young who worked for him in Milwaukee and Necedah, Travis Phillips of Atlanta, GA; and many nieces, Nephews, cousins and friends.
