Mr. Efrem Eton New

On December 17, 1961 the lord blessed Juanita New with her only beloved son Efrem Eton New. Efrem accepted Christ as his lord and Savior at an early age at St. James United Methodist Church. He reaffirmed his faith under the leadership of Pastor Marlon Lock at Unity Gospel House of Prayer. Efrem really enjoyed worshiping under Pastor Lock and was baptized in 2009. He often sent spiritual messages as well as words of encouragement weekly to family and friends. Efrem known as " Big E" to family and friends. He attended North Division High School. He later continued his education at the Art Institute. In 1987 Efrem met the woman that stole his heart. After a long courtship Estella Meeks and Efrem united in holy matrimony on May 24, 2008. Together they raised seven children. Efrem was a man blessed with many talents. In his earlier years he was a seamstress and he combined his love of the arts designing and painting characters on clothing. He enjoyed writing music with his friends and cousin Christopher New as he displayed his musical abilities on the drums and guitar. As a barber Efrem took pride in custom designing his younger clientele's haircuts. Efrem was an excellent listener, never judging, and spent his life encouraging everyone to push themselves and reach for the stars because the sky was the limit. Efrem was also a carpenter. Through the years he has renovated many of his friends and family's homes. Before his accident he was in the process of renovating a building in downtown Atlanta. There wasn't much he couldn't do and if given the chance he would learn and perfect whatever task assigned to him. Efrem was a devoted son who always checked on his family even when he was suffering himself. While in the hospital and in pain he would always turn to his mother and say, "Mama, how are you? Are you okay." He was the man of the family and he and his sisters Monique and Lori shared a close bond & his love for motorcycles drew him to join the Road Rage Organization where he was fondly known as "007". Efrem departed this life on Thursday, December 13, 2012 after a valiant attempt to heal after a motorcycle accident. Efrem E. New was preceded in death by grandparents, aunts, uncles, father in law Eddie Meeks Sr. and son Antiawn M. Williams, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory: Devoted wife Estella New, mother Juanita New, six children: Albert Williams III, Leola Williams, Isaac (Niesha) Brumfield, and Ishondia A. (Edric) Brunson; Alexis Gee, Brandon New. Two sisters Monique New and Lori Newall of Milwaukee, WI. Nineteen grandchildren, sister-in laws, brother-ln-laws, nieces. nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
