Mother Elnora Josephine Voss

Elnora Josephine Mayweather Voss was born on November 6. 1921 to the union of Henry and Florence Mayweather in Lonoke. Arkansas. She received her formal education in the Arkansas School System. She confessed her hope in Christ at the age of eleven and was united with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church where she served as secretary of the Sunday School. member of the Usher Board. and sang in the Youth Choir. In 1957. Elnora moved to Milwaukee. Wisconsin and was united with Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. There she met and married Elijah Voss and to their union. three daughters were born. Later she was one of the founding members of the Wanderer's Home Baptist Church (now called The New Creation Praise Church). She served as a member of the Mother's Board. She loved her church and was faithful to it. Elnora was also a member of the Deaconess Board of the Wisconsin General Baptist State Convention where she served as Secretary. She was employed by Attorney William Kaiser for several years as a cook until she left to pursue her heart's desire of starting a family. She was a very dedicated wife. mother and grandmother. known for her fried chicken and sweet potato pies. Elnora enjoyed planting and growing beautiful flowers and raising a vegetable garden to share with her friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed studying her bible (sometimes to the wee hours of the morning). shopping and spending lots of time with her children and grandchildren. She peacefully closed her eyes to life and opened her eyes to eternal life on January 30. 2018. She was preceded in death by her parents. Henry and Florence Mayweather: husband. Elijah Voss: daughter. Terry Ann: sisters. Lurenia Brown and Florence Mayweather: and brothers. Aurthur, Robert. Daniel. Clarence. Edgar. Cieaster. and [ohnie Mayweather. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters. Judy (David) Carson and Rochelle Voss Terry; one brother. Henry Mayweather of Little Rock. AR; seven grandchildren. Toriano and Brandon Carson. Krystle Johnson. Alexis and Aaron Robinson. all of Milwaukee. WI. Brittany Voss of Fayette. NC. and Kyle Carson of Tampa. FL: fourteen great grandchildren; a special cousin. Susie Baker of Little Rock. AR. who was like a sister: a special friend. Annie (David) Flegel. who was like a daughter; three special granddaughters. Shanise Sanders. Melanie Cahn and Stephanie Allen; two special friends. Mable Carson and Ethel Johnson. who were like sisters: and a host of other relatives and friends.
