Mrs. Erlean Erby

Mother Erlean Turnbough Erby was born on June 8, 1937 in Brookhaven, Mississippi to Gladys Kelly. Through her younger years, she enjoyed sharing .her time with her siblings and friends. Always willing to help others' in her talent of ,. - , . ' -.' , Cooking and mentoring of children. Erlean found Christ at an early age, Even as a child, she could sense a divine power that she relied on for comfort and protection. Throughout Brookhaven she worked at several restaurants as a cook, she was well known for her recipes and cooking style. During her life's journey, she married Marzell Turnbough and was blessed with five children: Michael, Billy, Peggy Sue, Charles and Jimmie Lee. After this union ended, Erlean moved to Milwaukee 'in 1968. She continued to work as a cook and institutional cook.' Everyone was impressed by her work and ability to create dishes. With that being said, she was called the cooking encyclopedia. In 1971, she met Willie' Erby, Sr. they married in 1986. From that union they have a son, Donnell. Erlean was always cooking and enjoying the fellowship of family and church friends. She has always been a devoted mother, sister, and-companion to all in her surroundings. Erlean welcomed all to come and share a meal or conversation over a hot cup of coffee. Erlean truly left a positive and blessed feeling on everyone with her smile, humor, faith, and joy of cooking. Through her life, she always enjoyed comforting others and being that rock you lean on for support. On March 25, 2013, Mother Erlean Erby found eternal rest and peacefully made her transition into eternal life. She was, preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Kelly; two sons, Michael Turnbough and Billy Turnbough; sister, Charlene Hunter, and brothers, Hurbert David Kelly, William Henry Kelly, Jacob Charles Kelly and Kenneth Ray Kelly. . ' - She leaves loving memories to be shared and cherished by: her children: Peggy Sue Caston (Wayman); Charles Turnbough (Erlean), Jimmie Turnbough, and Donnell Erby (Lynette); step children) Carl Erby and Hilda Scott; grandchildren, Marzell Tumbough, Janica Ford(Andrew), Charles Demetrius Turnbough (Tiffany), Tanita Watson, Nicholas Watson, James Tyler Turnbough, Amanda Turnbough DemetriusErby; Mariah Erby, and Isaiah Turnbough; great-granddaughter, Atia Turnbough avery special great-granddaughter, Shanice T. Bondes; brother, Gus - Kelly; and sisters, Mary-Lynn Sills and Ellen Nelson; as well as a host of other family and dear friends. .
