Mr. Gregory Kenneth Anderson Sr.

Gregory Kenneth Anderson was born on March 9, 1967 to the union of William Dorsey and Diane Balentine in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Gregory received his formal education at North Division in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and furthered his education at U.W. - Stevens Point. Gregory accepted Christ as his Savior at the age of ten and was united with Jericho Missionary Baptist Church where he served as head usher and choir director. Gregory was united in holy matrimony with Alicia Charleston on October 5, 1993 in Waukegan, Illinois. Their union was blessed with one child. He enlisted into the United States Army on June 20, 1984. He was honorably discharged in June of 1992. Gregory was employed by the Business and Economics Academy of Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a teacher, was the principal of Carmelite Group home for boys, a teacher at St. Charles, and a guard for the House of Corrections. In his leisure, he enjoyed debating and won the state championship four years in a row. He enjoyed giving his famous Martin Luther King speeches - he won the NAACP Act - 50 awards State Competition two years in a row for the "I Have a Dream" speech. He loved spending time with his boys, going to karaoke, ribbing and. cracking jokes, and was a natural comedian. Most of all, Gregory enjoyed spending time with his nephews, nieces, and granddaughters. Gregory was a Master Teacher of children and healed many of the children he came into contact with. Gregory would get them to learn through his strong ideas of discipline and comedy. Thank you Gregory for all that you have done to help the world. Gregory Kenneth Anderson departed this life on Thursday, August 15, 2013. He was preceded in death by his mother, Diane J. Balentine; father, William K. Dorsey; grandfather, James c. Balentine; grandmother, Elizabeth Balentine; uncle, James C. Balentine [r., aunt, Beverly Hortman; grandfather, Floyd Dorsey Sr., and grandmother, Lily Dorsey . He leaves to cherish his memory: sons, Gregory Anderson II and Pierre Dorsey; granddaughters, Shayla Dorsey and Nevaeh Boyd; aunts, Bonnie Balentine Johnson Akron, OH, Amanda Beard of Memphis, TN and Laura (Albert) Eanes of •. Athens, GA; grandmother, Emma Balentine of Milwaukee, WI; one uncle, John (Linda) Stokes of Milwaukee, WI; three sisters, Quametress Balentine, Angela Dorsey and Cynthia (Szidon) Cooper-McNulty of Milwaukee, WI; three brothers, Demetrius Balentine of Akron, Ohio, Tony (Vernel) Cooper and Kevin Rutherford of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of other relatives and friends.
