Mr. Harvey Wiilliam Francis

We come together today to celebrate the life and legacy of one of God's great creations. His name - Harvey William Francis, Jr. Harvey was born on February 25, 1930 to the union of Nellie and Harvey W. Francis, Sr. in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was one of seven children and to his siblings, he was affectionately known as "Junior". Harvey received his formal education within the Indianapolis School System. In 1948, he was united in holy matrimony with Florence Barnes in Indianapolis, Indiana and to this union, a son, Harvey W. Francis, III (Binky) was born. Harvey was later united in holy matrimony to Marie McChristian in 1955 in Waukegan, Illinois. After getting married, they immediately relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This union was blessed with three beautiful girls; Sheri, Rita and Renee. Harvey was always a hard-working man and was employed as a semi-truck driver for many years. He was later employed by American Motors and later went on to work at Harnischfeger (Joy Global) as a welder before he retired. In his leisure, Harvey enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. He loved cars and big trucks with all the bells and whistles. They were his toys! Harvey loved to have fun and ALWAYS had a funny saying or story for every situation! He told the BEST stories! He had an infectious laugh and the warmest spirit you would ever come in contact with. He was a financial guru and an engineering genius! He built two campers from scratch right in his driveway and they were both professional and just as good, if not better than any camper you could buy off the lot! Harvey could fix or build ANYTHING!!! As a little boy, any toy he had, he would take it apart and and put it back together. He once took the motor from an old Kenmore washer and made an electric churn to make milk churning easier for them on the farm. He loved little gadgets and always wanted to know what made them tick! He loved nature, animals and watching old western movies. He was always a businessman, a gentleman and believed in being prepared at all times. Harvey was very meticulous about his home, what he drove and his attire. His relationship with the Lord and his family were the most important things in life. He always made sure they were well taken care of. Harvey departed this life on Thursday, January 8th 2015. He slept away peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Once you met Harvey, you would never forget him! He was preceded in death by his parents, Nellie and Harvey W. Francis, Sr.; one brother, Raymond Francis; two sisters, Nellie and Mildred Francis; his son, Harvey W. Francis, Ill; and three daughters, Sheri, Rita and Renee. Harvey leaves to cherish his memory and legacy: his devoted wife of 60 glorious years, Marie Francis; one grandson, Harvey IV (Spud); three granddaughters, Nalvlia (Favorite One), Ciandria (Pretty Round Head), and Nicole (Colic Head); four great-grandchildren; five great great-grandchildren; three sisters, June (Herbert) Welsor of Milford, Pennsylvania, Darlene (Henry) Rogers and Bishop Dr. Lillian A. Barnes; all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; five brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; a special nephew, Brian Ntukogu of Indianapolis, Indiana; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends who celebrate the essence of the man who was Harvey William Francis, Jr!
