Ms. Henriette Flora Johnson

Henriette F. Johnson was born on Wednesday, August 12, 1953 to the union of Frank 1. and Marie T. McElvain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Henriette received her formal education in the Milwaukee Public Schools system where she attended Lloyd Street Elementary, Benjamin Franklin and later graduated from Rufus King High School in 1971. After graduation, she enrolled at the University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire for three years, but left to become a wife and mother. Years later, Henriette attended the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee, where she received her Bachelors in Science in the area of Social Work in 2012. Henriette received numerous academic scholarships to assist in advancing her career goals. Prior to her death, Henriette was working on a Masters Degree in Social Work, specializing in Gerontology. She would have graduated this May. Henriette accepted Christ as her savior in 1982. She was a member of Shiloh Lutheran Church. In 1973, Henriette F. McElvain was united in holy matrimony with Anthony Dale Johnson, Sr. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their union was blessed with one child; Anthony Dale Johnson, Jr. One of her first professional jobs was working at Wisconsin Bell. She was successful and held several positions for many years. In 1990, Henriette left Milwaukee and lived in numerous states including Texas, Alaska, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico. Henriette returned to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2008 to assist with providing care to her ill father. She would become employed by Multicultural Interfaith Community Center as a Director of Clerical Services, as well as a food associate at Sarah Chudnow Community. In her leisure time, Henriette enjoyed listening to the "oldies" such as Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby. She enjoyed watching Westerns and Turner Classic movies. Henriette relaxed by knitting and she definitely had a "sweet tooth". She was an avid reader, enjoyed spending time with friends playing cards and was a devoted San Antonio Spurs fan. She was well known for her love of cats. Loving, soft-spoken and extremely caring, are just some of the words used to describe Henriette. She will be fondly remembered as a thoughtful, generous and compassionate individual who loved her entire family. Henriette F. Johnson departed this life on Monday, March 13, 2017. She was preceded in' death by her parents Frank 1. and Marie T. McElvain. She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Anthony Dale Johnson Jr. of New York, New York; her sisters Frankye M. Wells, Apple Valley of Minnesota; Nancy A. Means of Chicago, Illinois, Dr. Katrice M. Cotton, Milwaukee, WI; nieces and nephews Kamille Wl}lls of Apple Valley, Minnesota, Matthew Wells of Eagan Minnesota, 1) andon and Brian Mean~ of Chicago, Illinois, Kayla and Noah Cotton of 'Milwaukee, Wi; great nieces and nephews Kaden, Kiera, Kylie, ana Kingston Wells; one aunt Ann. English of Cleveland Heights, Ohio and a host of cousins and friends.
