Mrs. Jacqueline Constance Allen

Jacqueline Constance Elizabeth White, "Jackie!" the firstborn child of C. Beatrice Dailey White and Clyte White, was born on June 26, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri. She manifested and exemplified courage, resilience, intelligence and love each of the 29,504 days of her long and productive life. Jackie was extremely smart and matriculated in the St. Louis, Missouri Public school system until age 14. Maternal siblings Claude, Gerald, James, Thomas and Yvonne, were also born in Missouri, "The Show Me State". Raymond, Gwendolynne and Brenda were born in Racine, WI, the Center of the Universe. Jackie's two eldest sons, Muumba (d) and Ledell (d) were also born in Racine. Eventually, the entire family moved to Milwaukee where Jackie gave birth to Brent, Lyle (d), Clyde and Jeffrey. Jackie's father, Clyde, Sr., remarried Ms. James Ella Calvert White. From their union, Clyde, Jr., Ivie and Shirley, were born in St. Louis. Clarence, Willie, Dola, twins: Bobbie and Robert, Lawrence, Dorothy, Milton (d), Ronald, Jeanette, Donald (d),Leslie, and Leonard (d) were born in Milwaukee. Jackie, the firstborn of this unique family, became "the bridge" that built a permanent bond of love between her maternal and paternal siblings. Jackie's love was the "gorilla glue" that held, and will continue to hold, this beloved extended family together as a living tribute to Jackie's love and loyalty to family including siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, coworkers, and friends. We would be remiss if we did not convey that Jackie was the most loved and beloved grandmother in history!!! If you don't believe me; just ask any of her grandchildren. In terms of cooking, absolutely no one could touch Jackie. Please believe me-Jackie could throw down!!! She was a culinary genius. Jackie could've made the cut for any "best dressed" list. No matter where Jackie was going, Jackie loved to dress up! Whenever she was a guest at a wedding, she often commented that the "bride had better bring her "N' game 'cause I'm bringing mine!" Jackie was just plain fun to be around!!! Jackie attended the University of Wisconsin where she received a certification in Early Childhood Development. Jackie was talented as a community organizer and was employed with the Community Relations-Social Development Commission-Inner City Development Project (IDCP) and the Westside Conservation Corporation. She worked on innovative projects including Special Liaison with the District Attorney's Office, Task Force on Battered Women on behalf of women experiencing violence including sex trafficking. As a Housing Counselor, Jackie helped hundreds of residents in peril of foreclosure. As a citizen, "foot soldier", she was a fierce advocate for civil rights and advocacy for poor women. In the early 1970's, Jackie was one of the original organizers of the Milwaukee's Welfare Rights Organization. Jackie was bold, strategic and tenacious as she led marches and was arrested with mothers and children. She is the quintessential role model for standing up to immoral economic inequality with pride and self- esteem. Jackie was one of Milwaukee's, first and best community organizers. Despite Jackie's serious medical challenges, she continued her civic engagement. She voted by absentee ballot. She was an ardent supporter of #Black Lives Matter, #Me Too and judiciously followed the news outlining the plethora of grounds for impeachment of Donald Trump!!! Indeed, for decades, the Milwaukee Public Library had a portrait of Jackie displayed as one of the most positive people in Milwaukee. Jackie really loved the Lord and witnessed to everyone she met of God's Love, Grace and Mercy. With her friends, Pastor Walter and Sis. Vivian Goodlette, and others, Jackie was a founding member of a nondenominational ministry called "Trophies of Grace". Jackie had a heart for young people and organized and led the Youth Ministry and served as an advisor to the group she named, "God's Gang." As the mission and season of Trophies of Grace was completed, Jackie joyfully united with New Testament Church of Milwaukee, under the pastoral care and teaching of Senior Pastor Julius R. Malone. Mount Moriah Baptist Church was always a source of joy and strength for Jackie. Jackie petitioned the Lord to allow her to live long enough to successfully raise her grandson Van Davis White. God granted her the desires of her heart. Thank You God for the precious gift of "Jackie" for 80 years. God has spoken. Let the Church say "Amen".
