Mr. James Michael Nash

James Michael Nash was born on January 31, 1953, to the union of John and Eva Nash in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and received his formal education in the Milwaukee Public School System. With great respect for our country, his unwavering passion, dedication and service to protect our rights and our freedom, James served in three branches of the military and received an honorable discharge. He was proud to be an American. James accepted Christ as his personal Savior at a very young age and became a member of Philadelphia Church of God in Christ. Serving as a faithful servant for many years, he was later elevated in ministry to a Deacon. He was a member at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church for over 10 years until he found his home at Greater Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Victor C. Davis, Sr., where he continued serving faithfully until his health began to deteriorate. James was an active member of the Deacon's Board, Pastor's Anniversary Team; and with his heart of gold, supported a number of auxiliaries and ministries within the church. He loved his Pastor and his church family and he truly served the Lord with gladness. In 1978, James was joined in holy matrimony with Billie King and of that union he gained a daughter, Traci. Soon to follow were Michelle, James, and Mark. In 1993, James was united inly matrimony with Nora Jackson and of that union they were blessed with a daughter, Cicely. James was employed by the Milwaukee County Transit System as a Bus Operator. He retired in 2010 after 26 years of dedicated service. Some of his greatest accomplishments that brought him joy were to be a servant of God, a loving son, husband, father, caring for foster children and spending quality time with family and friends. James will be especially remembered for his humor, wit and spirit of adventure. A man of many talents, he was a musician in a band and he absolutely loved to sing. During testimony service, you could be certain he would sing one of his favorite gospel hymns, "! made a vow to the Lord." His list of hobbies and interests included photography, carpentry, karate, jogging, tennis, going out for breakfast, watching movies in the theater, and a fond love and appreciation for traveling. James Michael Nash departed this life on January 29, 2015. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Booker Nash; Bessie and Hosey Burt; father, John Nash; sisters, Bessie Kimble and Dorothy Watson; brothers, Joe Nash and John A. Nash; mother-in-law, Bessie Jackson; father-in-law, Henry Jackson; nephew, James Watson Jr.; uncles, Willie Sullivan, Henry Nash and Richard Nash; sister-in-law, Evangeline Jackson.
