Mr. Jason Gregory Cowan

Jason Gregory Cowan was born on December 2,1946 to the union of Jason Moulden and Marian Anderson Cowan in Indianapolis, Indiana. At the age of 8 years old, his parents moved to Jarvis, Texas. It was there that the Cowan family expanded, welcoming baby brother, Stephen Cowan. The family of four relocated to California. Jason received Christ as a teenager at United Christian Church in Los Angeles, California. Jason was a graduate of Compton High School where he played baseball and had several news articles written about his high school baseball career. Jason got a two year degree from Compton Junior College and received his Bachelor's Degree at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he majored in psychology. In his last year at Morehouse, Jason and Sheila Miller were married. Two children were born to their union, Kim Antoinette and Frances Marian. After nearly 30 years of marriage, he went on to start a new life with his now lovely wife, Evelyn Ray Cowan and her three children, Andre Nealy, Turquoise Ray and Nathan Armon, Sr. Jason loved life, he loved to play jokes on his family and loved to travel. Jason and his college friends Noel Robinson, Jheryl Brisby (a deceased administrator of Motown Records) and Gary Holmes started a group called the "Mindbenders." They had huge dances and events and when Jason moved his family to Indianapolis, the group started the "Party Line" where social clubs would pay to advertise their social events. Not everyone knew Jason was an entrepreneur. He started his career with Pacific Bell in California in the marketing department. He also worked for IBM in management and in Human Resources for American Fletcher Bank in Indianapolis, Indiana. When Jason and his family moved to Milwaukee, he pursued a career with OIC and later became the Director ofOIC in Racine, Wisconsin. In 1986,Jason began his career with Milwaukee Public Schools, as manager of the warehouse and later became the head of the purchasing department. He retired in 2007. Jason Gregory Cowan is survived by: his spouse, Evelyn Ray Cowan; daughters, Kim Antoinette Cowan and Frances Marian (Halbert) Algee of Milwaukee, WI; stepchildren, Andre Nealy, Turquoise Ray and Nathan Armon, Sr.; grandchildren, Cedric Jackson, Keon Irving, Brittany Jackson, DeAndre Algee and Arianna Algee; brother, Stephen Cowan of Colorado; nephew, Ian Cowan of Alaska; sister-in-law, Dorris Ray of Milwaukee, WI; brothers-in-law.james (Mattie) Joyce of Mississippi, Dudley Ray, Jr of Minnesota, Tom Ray of Milwaukee, WI, Darryl Ray of North Carolina; and a host of loving family and friends.
