Mrs. Jeanetta Jane Prince

Jeanetta Jane Woodard Prince was born on January 21, 1926 in Roswell, New Mexico to John Woodard and Alberta Smith. As the 4th of 6-children, she grew up in Roswell, attending elementary school and a majority of her high school years there. She finished high school in Cheyenne, WY, leaving there to work in California and New York City in her early years. Upon her return to New Mexico, she found work at the Roswell Army Air Field during the time that the Army and AirForce were a combined unit, as well as a segregated 'unit-. Her work consisted of quality control on B-29 bombers and ATl1 engine trainers, and aircraft designed to carry nuclear weapons. During her tenure as an employee, the Air Force became a .separate service, and the base was titled Walker Air Force Base. While working on the base, she met her future husband, Eugene Prince, who was an enlisted' member of the Armed Forces and assigned to the base during that time. Of note was that they began dating during the time of the alleged Roswell UFO incident which became a source of interesting conversation, particularly as Eugene was assigned to that squadron. On June 6, 1950, she entered into holy matrimony with Eugene, at which time she came to Milwaukee to live. From that union, they were blessed- with four children: Thomas Rhone, Deborah, Eugene, [r., and Joan. She worked in several jobs, eventually retiring as an employee of Briggs & Stratton Corporation after 30 years of employment in 1983. She began her Christian life in Milwaukee as a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church where she served a long tenure as a 58 year devout member at the time that the Lord called her home. During her time there, she worked in the church and school, and worked with other church members to spread the Gospel door-to-door. Jeanetta J. Prince departed this life on January 4, 2016. Living to cherish her memory are her son, Thomas Rhone of Arizonar daughters, Deborah (Prince) Carter and Joan Prince of, Wisconsin; beloved granddaughter, Tracy Carter of Wisconsin; grandchildren, William and Keisha Rhone of Arizona, her cherished sister, Alberta ,(Woodard) Thompson of Irmo, South Carolina; cherished 'nephews, State Representative Craig Hickman of Maine and Fred Hamilton. of California; cherished nieces, Alice Gross of Colorado, Bernestine Jeffers and Vicki Jeffers of Wisconsin and' Gina (Hickman) Thaxton of California; her cherished great-niece, Grace Loren Thaxton, as well as a host of great-grandchildren, godchildren, other family and treasured friends. She W1lS preceded in death by her husband of 65-1/2 years, Eugene Prince; her son, Eugene P, Prince, [r., her parents, John Woodard and Alberta Smith; her brothers, Reuben Woodard and Sanford Woodard; and her sisters, Geneva Washington, and Agnes Ruth Griffin.
