Mrs. Joannie L. Boyle

Joannie Boyle was born on March 21, 1943 in Dumas, Arkansas. She was the seventh of fifteen children born to Jesse Tatum, Sr. and Alma Watson Tatum. They provided her spiritual foundation in Christ. With the encouragement of her father's brother, in 1954 the family moved from Dumas, Arkansas to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and united with Mason Temple Church Of God In Christ located then on l Ith and Brown under the leadership of the late, Elder C. B. Stokes. She later became a member of Antioch Church Of God In Christ under the pasturage of her father, Elder Jesse Tatum, Sr. She attended 12th Street Elementary School and graduated from North Division High School in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joannie was saved at the age of twelve. She sang in the church choir and with a group named the Mason Temple-etts. [oannie lead the song" Lord Don't Leave Me In This World By Myself." Joannie Tatum was united in holy matrimony with David Boyle on April 14, 1978 in Waukegan, Illinois. To this union two children were blessed. She worked for fifteen years at the Milwaukee Public Library as a binder. Sister Boyle was a day care provider of the Learning Tree Day Care for seven years. She was known for her culinary skills and those delicious sweet potato pies. She enjoyed and loved shopping and traveling. Sister Boyle went home to be with the Lord on February 22, 2016, at St. Mary's Ozaukee Hospital, Mequon, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Tatum, Sr. and Alma Watson Tatum; two sisters, Mary Jane Austin and Annette Kinlaw; six brothers, Bishop Jesse Tatum, [r., Oscar Tatum, Moses Tatum, Clarence, Herbert Joe Tatum, and Robert Tatum. Joannie leaves to cherish her memory: her loving and caring husband, David Boyle; one cherished daughter, Dardi Boyle; one devoted son, Derrick Shawn (Belinda) Boyle; four sisters, Carla E. (Willie) Perkins, Clara Upchurch, Virginia (Thomas) Burrell and Linda Renee Tatum; two brothers, Bishop Albert (Gladys) Tatum and Dwight Tatum; four grandchildren, Shannon Boyle, David Louis, Ashley Boyle and Courtney Boyle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Her life long special friends, Norma Summerville and Carolyn Riley were a great support. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
