Mr. Johnny Lee Franks

Johnny Lee Franks was born to the union of Felix and Frances (Gay) Franks on June 7,1946 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He attended Lloyd Street and Palmer Street School and graduated from North Division High School. He also attended The American Bible College through 1It. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. Johnny accepted Je u Christ as his personal savior as a young child and was a faithful member of the Mt. Calvary Holy Church of America, Inc. under the leadership of the late Elder Otis Evans and under the leadership of the late Bishop Gertrude Pitts and later Overseer Anthony Franklin. Johnny enjoyed attending Sunday School, Junior Church Services and all other services held at Mt. Calvary as well as other Church Fellowships. He was a member of the Cleaning Crew, Choir and Praise Team and served on the Trustee Board. He loved to travel and did not miss any Conventions or Convocations and Workshops. He wa always a willing worker and a friend to all. In October of 2003, Deacon Johnny Franks became a Charter Member of New Horizons Integrated Ministries, Inc. and President of the Mens' Department under the leadership of Pastor Jacquelyn Humphrey where he served faithfully until the Lord called him home. After graduation from High School Johnny held many jobs and was finally employed by Marquette University in the Custodial Department for more than 30 years. He loved to sing, travel, eat and meet new friends. He loved children and had a special pet name for each of them. He was a fun loving guy and was always :naki.ng jokes or saying something comical and laughing at his own sayings. Deacon Johnny Lee Franks transitioned from labor to rest on Thursday, March 24, 2016 with his family, Pastor Humphrey, Minister Scroggins and Brother Ron by his side. He was preceded in death by his grandmmher Lena Gay, his parents Felix Franks and Frances (Gay) Franks. He leaves a cherish his memory his sister Kattie Franks-Wilson, brother-in-law Clarence Wilson, aunt Lucinda Williams, nephew Christopher Franks, nieces Angela Franks and Francine (Will) Dixon and great-niece Lauryn Dixon, all of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, god-children, Church family and a host of cousin a er relatives and friends. He truly believed that "Only What You Do For Christ Will Last".
