Ms. Julia Dozier

Julia Ann Smith was born May 27, 1939 to the union of Ed and Melissa Smith in Morrow, Louisiana. Julia received her formal education within the Morrow Public School System. She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age.On November 17, 1954, Julia united in holy matrimony with Matthew Armstrong in the Parish of Landry, Louisiana. Their union was blessed with three children. The Armstrong family moved to Galveston, Texas for a short period of time and later migrated to Illinois. On August 5, 1965, Matthew Armstrong departed this life. In 1969, Julia and her three sons moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, there they made a home.Julia was employed by a couple of companies in the Milwaukee area over the years. She worked at Jack Winters and Briggs 8 Stratton. She retired from Astronautics Corporation of America after more than 33 years of service. There, she made many wonderful friends. Julia was truly a people person.She united with Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church and was a very devoted church member, serving as an usher and a nurse for many years. She also volunteered her time on the repast committee for families who lost their loved ones.Julia met her best friend, Willie Dozier, Jr. at church and they were united in holy matrimony in April of 1988. They spent many happy years together traveling in attending various events including family reunions, which she loved the best. Julia will always be remembered As a lovinq mother who cared deeply for her family and friends. She had a lovely smile and a warm heart.Julia departed this life on Friday, May 15,2020. She is preceded in death by devoted husband, Willie Dozier, Jr.; parents, Ed and Melissa Smith; five brothers, Eligh, Gus, James Edward and Sherman; six sisters, Elvira, Edna, Bessie, Cheney Lee, Lena and Dorothy.She leaves to cherish her memory; Loving sons, Robert Lee (Cynthia) Armstrong, Matthew Armstrong Jr. and Willie Louis (Christina) Armstrong; one brother, Paul Smith; eight grandchildren, Natasha Armstrong, Latina (Ollie) Jones, Robert Walker, Matthew Armstrong III, Julius Walker, Mercedes Armstrong, Kobe Walker and Leah Walker; fourteen great Grandchildren, Charity, Garrrett, Kiera, Jumanji, Antonio, Antoinette, Naleah, Alaysha, Martin, Amani, Lateyah, Jaylynn, Robyn and Sincere; five great-great Grandchildren, Madisyn, Conner, Garret Jr., Serenity and Grace; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, friends and neighbors.
