Rev. LaDon Gene Simpson

Rev. LaDon Gene Simpson was born on March 9, 1963 in Mobile, AL. He was born to the union of the late Fannie Mae Jones and Samuel V. McCovery Sr.; and adopted by Rev. John E. Simpson and the late Elizabeth Simpson. He accepted Christ at the young age of 10 and was united with Macedonia Baptist Church in Albion, MI. He was a graduate of Albion High School in Albion, MI. He obtained his Theology degree at Moody Bible Institute and his Associate Degree in Billing and Coding at Bryant & Stratton College. He relocated to Milwaukee, WI in 1983 where he worked at Plymouth Manor Nursing Home as an Environmental Services Director and co-owned Simpson's Sparkling Cleaning Service. He also spent several years serving as assistant pastor at Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church. He was then led by the Lord to establish Paramount Bible Fellowship. Following, he aided in the growth of other churches as a minister, organist, choir director, clinician, and a member of the Mobile County Mass Choir of Mobile, AL. Upon his passing he became the assistant pastor at True Heart Baptist Church. During his leisure he enjoyed fishing with his best friends John (Smidge) Kennedy and the late Larry Hucks; traveling with his wife and spending time with his family and friends. And whenever he was called upon to pastor, he was honored and took pride to spread the word and the love of Jesus. He was preceded in death by his biological parents, adopted mother, and one brother, Joseph McCovery. Rev. LaDon G. Simpson was united in holy matrimony with Mamie L. Barnes on April 16, 2005. With that union became a family of nine children: Andre (Katie) Simpson, Elizabeth Simpson, Dalicia Simpson, LaShawn Barnes, LaKesha (Anthony) Johnson, Shannon (Bradley) McDonald, Nicole Barnes, Shanda Vaughn, and Eddreena Tuggles; twelve grandchildren: Zion Simpson, Zaria Simpson, Zariah Simpson, D'ier Vaughn, Karilyn McNealey, Kenneth McNealey Jr., Aveonne Simpson, Sanaa Morton, Demarioun Dixon, Malachi Johnson, Gavyn Fitzgerald, and Monroe Johnson; one great grandchild, Daelyn Henry-William; and one goddaughter, Exceldra Crook. He is also survived by four sisters: Margaret McCovery, Vanessa McCovery, (his twin) LaDonna Simpson, and Regina Goudeau; six brothers: Samuel McCovery Jr., Milton McCovery, Rev. DeMoin (Renae) McCovery, Rev. Patrick (Paula) McCovery Sr., (very devoted) Steffon (Veronica) McCovery Sr., Ike (Alesha) McCovery; adopted father, Rev. John E. Simpson, his mother-in-law, Mary Johnson, and a host of other family and friends.
