Ms. Laurise Elizabeth Killebrew-Reese

LAURISE ELIZABETH KILLEBREW was born on October 13,1955 in Kokomo, Indiana to John L. and Joycelyn B. Killebrew. She attended St Francis Catholic School and St. Gall Catholic School. For middle school she attended Parkman Middle School. She graduated high school from Lincoln Junior/Senior High school in 1973. All located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. At an early age she professed her her faith in Jesus Christ and joined St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church. At St. Mark she served as a Trustee, on the Finance Team, Women's Missionary Society, worked with the Pastors Aide and countless church events in the kitchen cooking. Believing in hard work and dedication Laurise worked for Wisconsin Electric for two years before working for the Internal Revenue Service as an Auditor in 1979. She earned a name for herself working various major audits during her tenure. She worked as a Federal employee for over 24 years before retiring in 2004. Laurise was blessed with two biological children: Sheila D. Killebrew (1972) and Christopher S. Sterling (1987). She was united in holy matrimony to Melvin Reese in 1993. 'This Union was blessed with two bonus step children Dwyane and Sharmin Reese. After retirement, in her leisure time she spent most of her time cookinglbaking for family and friends and singing with the Majestic's Community Choir. Being so advanced in tax work after retirement she spent time during tax season preparing for many. She even enjoyed going to Tunica, MS every year with her "Mama," her sister Debra and a host of longtime friends. She will be forever remembered for her quick witted responses, delicious food and gorgeous red hair. On April 4th 2024 Laurise Elizabeth Killebrew-Reese departed this life. She was proceeded in death by her grand-parents Ruth L. Nance and John Wesley 'Thrasher; parents; John L. Killebrew and Joycelyn B. 'Thrasher; sister; Linda J. Canada; uncles Waldamar, Wesley and Brian 'Thrasher and nephew, Eric Lamont Clinton. She leaves to cherish her memory, aunts Janet Thompson and Creola Thrasher; sisters, Brenda (Nera) Clinton and Debra Smith; daughter, Sheila D. Killebrew; son, Christopher S. Sterling; stepchildren, Dwyane and Sharmin Reese; grandchildren Jenelle J. Killebrew-Holloway and Jehlen C. Barner-Killebrew; step grandchild Jonathan Reese; Great grandchild Laila Martinez-Bravo; 4 nieces; Anissa Killebrew, Ericka (Brandon) Herbert, Enineva Canada, Cynthia Smith; nephew Leonard Smith; goddaughter Kimberly J. Waters; best friends Forestine (Tina) Waters and Regina (Roy) Cobbs and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
