Mr. Leonardo Dean

Leonardo Dean Jr. best known to his Family as "IBN" was born to Leonardo Ghess and Hattie Carter on May 6, 1952 in Chicago IL. Leonardo was the youngest of four children and the only son. IBN received his formal education in the Chicago Public School System attending James Wadsworth Elementary school and was a graduate of HYOE Park High School. In 1978 he relocated to Mil- waukee, Wisconsin and furthered his education at Milwaukee Area Technical College and Univenity of Wisconsin Milwaukee for two years. Throughout the years IBN received numerous certifications in skill building, drug counseling, fork lifting, and five certifications in min- istry training. In his various employment endeavors he worked as a mail sorter, machine operation, packer, housekeeping and welding. He was lastly employed at Briggs and Stratton as a Fork Lifter retir- ing after 15 years. After retirement IBN remained busy working different security jobs and served his community as Chairperson for the National Coalition of Black America Men for the "Project Return" group. He was also a strong advocate for the 12 step program. IBN was a very Spiritual Man, his religious evolution covered many faiths. He was ordained as a Licensed Minister with New Creatures in Christ Ministries on March 22, 2015. He served Faithfully as a Minister causing many to come to Christ. One's life is best described by the people you meet along the way; IBN's friends were many and he was loyal to their friendship. His unique personality and uncanny sense of humor left you in smiles. His grand personality was often emulated by his nephews and nieces that loved to joke and play around with him. IBN was quite the stylist, his clothes matched from head to toe; he was a great dresser and no color was obsolete for him! In his lei- sure he loved playing the saxophone, singing and stepping. Following an eight month battle with illness; on July 11,2019 sur- rounded by family and friends God in His infinite wisdom at 8: 11 pm transitioned Leonardo Dean Jr. peacefully to his eternal home. He was preceeded in death by His parents Hattie and Leonardo Sr., one sister Alice & two nephews Anthony and Ammonra. He leaves to cherish his precious memories; his loving sisters, Shirley/Sheba;a (Suitaan) of Milwaukee and Diana Fort of Florida; beloved nephews and nieces, Jeff, Daris, Deon, Kwame, Kimani, Jachon, Tyehimba, Pawnee, Anna of FL;, Latonya (Nasif), Malika (Oneil), Uwimana, Nekkion; twenty one great-nephews; eighteen great-nieces; four great-great nieces; two great-great nephews; spe- cial extended family, daughters, Erica,Shenika, Tamela; nine grand- sons; two grand-daughters; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
