Mr. Levi Watts

LEI WALLACE WATTS, son of Crosby E. Watts, Sr. and Bernice (nee Jones) Watts, was born on January 20, 1955 in Grenada, Mississippi. In his youth, Levi accepted Christ and started a life of church affiliation with New Hope Missionary Baptist Church of Grenada, Mississippi. He attended Tie Plant Elementary School in Grenada. The family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1966 and Levi continued his schooling within the Milwaukee Public School System at Pierce Street Elementary School and Robert Fulton Middle School. Levi graduated from Milwaukee Boys Technical School (now Milwaukee Brady Technical High School) in 1973. He attended Marquette University in 1974-1975 where he studied electrical engineering. For a short period of time, Levi began employment at Koehring T nternational and Allis Chalmers. Later, he entered the United States Air Force in 1978. He was stationed in Phoenix, Arizona. He spent four years in the Arizona sun! He returned to Milwaukee and became a police officer with the Milwaukee Police Department where he worked for 25 years. He met the love of his life, Martha Josephine, where they were married in 1991 in their home in Milwaukee. They spent 27 wonderful years as husband and wife with many live parties, adventurous travels, and super family gatherings. He retired in 2009 from the Milwaukee Police Department and began a multitude of travels to Bullhead City, Arizona. Levi loved playing darts, softball, II, and volleyball. He was an add of the Milwaukee Brewers and the ukee Bucks. He really enjoyed playing king games with his family and friends. He loved to get together with family tor cookouts and road traveling trips with the entire family, if he could lead the caravan. Levi definitely loved having family at his home in Bullhead City where he loved riding in his boat and jet ski on the Colorado River and Lake Mead. He spent many days on the Colorado River with his feet in the water as he ate macaroni salad and sipped on rum. Arizona was his safe haven! On Friday, May 1, 2020, God saw fit to relieve him from pain and suffering and called him to rest. He was preceded in death by his father, Crosby E. Watts; mother, Bernice Watts (Jones), brother, Andre D. Watts; and a sister, Brenda C. Watts. He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Martha J. Watts of Bullhead City, Arizona; two daughters: Nicole (Chris) Edwards, of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Briana Johnsen of Chandler, Arizona; son, Levin Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; two granddaughters, Stephanie and Olivia; two brothers, Crosby E. Watts, Jr. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Charles B. Watts of Milford, Connecticut; five beloved sisters, Barbara A. Mays, Laura E. (Anthony) Parker, Gloria Watts, Addie M. Grayson, and Glenda F. Watts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; many dear nieces, and nephews, including a special nephew, Leon Mays Jr. of Peoria, Arizona, great nieces and nephews, one great, great nephew and a host of other dear relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Levi, we love you more than you can even imagine. We will always miss you. It comforts us though to know, that you are in a better place.
