Mrs. Linda Carol Mixon-Dozier

Now there is in stare far me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day - and not only to me, but also to all who have longed far his appearing. - 2 Timothy 4: 7-8 Linda Carol Mixon Dozier was born on July 29, 1956 to the union of Reverend LeRoy B. Mixon and to the late Mrs. Georgia M. Mixon in Milwaukee, WI. Linda accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and became a member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of her father, Reverend Leroy B. Mixon. As a teenager, Linda was recognized and crowned as "Miss Pilgrim Rest". Linda had great faith and trust in God despite the trials and adversity she endured in her life. She is a beautiful example of a soldier and a faithful servant for the Lord. Linda received her formal education at LaFollette Elementary School, Parkman Middle School, and Rufus King High School. Linda continued her higher education at Milwaukee Area Technical College earning an associate's degree in Paralegal studies. Linda worked in the banking industry for many years and also worked for Milwaukee County as a Paralegal. Linda was united in holy matrimony with Michael ]. Dozier on April 15, 1978 in Milwaukee, WI. Their union was blessed with two beautiful and loving daughters, Katina L. Dozier and Jenae M. Dozier. At 36 years young, Linda was paralyzed from a stroke that left her unable to work and to no longer care for herself. Linda enjoyed singing, dancing (bopping being her favorite), shopping, and was most definitely a stylish FASHIONISTA. During her junior high school years, Linda and her girl friends had a singing group the "Magnificent Exodus" who won several trophies in many local talent shows. In her leisure time, Linda really loved to take pictures and she also enjoyed reflecting on memories with her friends and family. Linda loved to do crossword puzzles daily and watch old black & white movies and television shows. For a relentless 28 years, Linda fought and defeated countless health and medical complications while our God was preparing her room in Heaven. Linda was called to eternal peace on Wednesday afternoon, October 3, 2018. Linda was preceded in death by her Mother, Mrs. Georgia M. Mixon; her maternal grandparents, Mr. William T yus Sr. and Mrs. Lena T yus; and her paternal grandparents, Claude Mixon and Florence Long. Linda leaves to cherish in her memory: her beloved and most dedicated father, Pastor Emeritus LeRoy B. Mixon; her two loving daughters, Katina L. Dozier and Jenae M. Dozier; her four precious grandchildren, La'Trese ]. Benford, Larrell J. Benford, Jaden M. Johnson, and Janai N. Johnson; her former husband and forever love, Michael J. Dozier; her brothers, Dr. Reginald Savage and Robert Savage; her very special best friends, Mrs. Maggie Mitchell and Ms. Patricia Wilson; a special church sister, Pearl Gatson; and a loving host of many relatives and many, many friends.
