Ms. Lodia W. Roberts

Lodia Willie Roberts was born in Dekalb, Mississippi on April 5, 1934, to the: late Mr. James Alonzie (Bud) Roberts and Mrs. Lucy Mae Donald Roberts. Lodia was the sixth child of thirteen children (ten girls and three boys). She often talked about how proud she was to be named by her late uncle Will, the brother of her late father, Bud. She was the proud mother of one daughter, Pamela K. Roberts and two sons, Ricky E. Roberts and Sidney T. Roberts. Lodia started her high school education in Hillsboro, Illinois and completed it at Whisenton high school in Dekalb Mississippi. Lodia returned to Chicago, Illinois to live with her late sister Ruby J Alexander and began her career in fashion as a model. She loved being a Tea Room model for Carson Pirie Scott's department store. She moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin and worked for Hixon's Apparel Boutique for several years before changing her career and joining the Milwaukee County Hospital as a Food Service Assistant. She was promoted to Food Service Supervisor and retired from the Milwaukee County Hospital and the Veteran Affair's Medical Center. After retiring, she loved working part-time as a Security Guard for various companies around Milwaukee. Lodia W. Roberts was a strong phenomenal woman who loved and cared for her children and extended family. if anyone she encountered needed a hand, she made sure that she helped them in any way that she could. She will always be remembered for her love to dance what she called the "one two. " In her leisure, she enjoyed going to rummage sales with her late mother Lucy Mae and late sister Athelia and spending time with her grandchildren, especially at Chuck E. Cheese. She also enjoyed time at the casino, attending service and helping at All Peoples Church. Lodia W. Roberts is preceded in death by her parents, James Alonzie and Lucy Mae Roberts. sisters: Ruby J Alexander, Eunice L. Eleby, Athelia Kirk, Loreen Holifield and her brother, A.L. Lamer Roberts. Lodia leaves to cherish her memories; sons Ricky E. Roberts and Sidney T. Roberts; and one daughter, Pamela K. Roberts, grandchildren: Lucrecia L. (Bruce) Jones, Arletha Hurt, Jymel Velazquez, Reyna/do Velazquez, Dominic Velazquez, Spencer Velazquez and Enrio C. James. Sisters: Mary E. Listenbee, Lonnie J Oliver, Della M Eddington, Ualla R. (Emanuel Jr.) Carter, Mildred J Carter, and Brothers: Arlies (Marie) Roberts and Leonard V Roberts.. Lodia also leaves a host of great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends
