Ms. Lois P. Jones

Lois Phyllis Jones was born on August 4, 1929, to the union of Malachai Sr. and Lois Jones in Chicago, Illinois. Lois was the youngest of two children born to this union. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She later joined Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Leroy B. Mixon. Lois received her formal education in Memphis, TN, graduating from Woodstock High School. After graduation, she moved to Chicago, Illinois and eventually migrated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she lived with her aunt and uncle. She started working for Patrick Cudhay at the age of 21 and retired after 32 years. She also worked in nursing homes in the food service department. Lois loved her church. During her early years at the church, she sung in the choir. Lois loved going to church each Sunday, attending Sunday School and the church service. When she was no longer able to attend, she would ask to watch the service on Facebook each week. Lois never married nor had any children of her own, but in the summer of 1958, she met Luella Dallas by way of her twin sons, Joe and Johnny. Lois never looked back, and she became a part of the family. She instantly became an aunt, best friend, and Godmother to the children and grandchildren of Luella Dallas. For over 67 years, Lois was a pillar in the family, adopting them as her own children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Even though she was short in stature, she had the roar of a lioness protecting her cubs. She did not allow anyone to mess with us. Lois loved life and her family. She was a daddy's girl and a big sister to her brother and sister. She loved to travel and visit family and friends in Memphis, TN. In her leisure time, she loved watching her stories, General Hospital and Days of Our Lives. When it was time for them to come on, she did not want to be interrupted. She also loved taking her monthly trips with her group of friends. Lois outlived most of her family, and her wish was to live to see 100 years of age, but God had other plans for her. Lois Phyllis Jones departed this life for a new life in heaven on Saturday, October 18, 2025, in the home of her best friend, Luella Dallas. She was preceded in death by her: parents, Malachai Sr. and Lois Jones; brother, Malachai Jones Jr.: and sister, Geraldine Muhammad. She leaves to cherish her memory: nephews, Joseph (Shirley), Johnny (Playdell), and Charles Dallas; nieces, Eartha Clark, Debra, Connie Dallas, and Phyllis (Chris) Morris-Dallas of Houston, TX; Goddaughter, Kashia Clark; special friends, Carol and Tonya; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A special thank you to Kashia Clark and Samia Dallas for helping take care of her during her last days here on earth.
