Mrs Lola Mae Purtue

Lola Mae Purtue was born Lola Mae Coleman on October 23, 1919 in Rayville, Louisiana to the union of the late Gove and Alma Coleman. Her childhood and young adult years were spent in Dermott, Arkansas. Lola received her formal education at Dermott High School where she excelled as a student. Lola accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized as a child at Calvary Baptist Church of Dermott Arkansas. Lola currently was a member of Brown Deer Baptist Church where she served as a faithful member who truly loved the Lord. Lola entered into holy matrimony with Clarse Purtue in 1944. In 1944 she moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin to be joined with her family members. Lola was employed with Clement Zablocik VA Hospital where she served dutifully for 2S years before retiring as a Supervisor in 1986. Lola was a devoted member of her local VFW. She served as President in the year 2000 and as Auxiliary Treasury for a number of years. In her leisure time she enjoyed volunteering for various organizations, discussing the Bible with her close spiritual friend Sadie Gregory, watching Charles Stanley, helping others in need, and spending time with her family members. Lola Purtue was truly blessed, she departed this life on June 11,2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarse Purtue, parents Gove and Alma Coleman, brothers Ivory, Gove, Clyde, Alfred, Conway, sisters Pearl, Elizabeth, Elsie, son Clarse Purtue Jr and daughter in law Lola Nimmer. She leaves to cherish her memory sons Conway (Lola), Governice, James (Tina), daughter Cora (Victor); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends. "As you reflect upon your memories of me today there are moments in my life which you will never forget. There are moments which will grow brighter and sweeter as time fades away ... We'll meet again---of that we can be certain, in that bright horne so wondrous and so fair, whose glories veiled to us by a curtain, through God's redeeming grace we are to share. Yes, we'll meet again in that bright glory; how wondrous it will be to talk things over and to bring a fresh but never ending story of life which shall endure forever more. To a land where joy shall never end, I flyaway .
