Mrs. Lowistine Moton

On May 29, 1952, Lowistine Wolfe was born to Connie C. Wolfe and Irene E. Conley at Homer G. Phillips Hospital in St. Louis, MO. In 1956, the family relocated to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lowistine received her formal education within the Milwaukee Public School System and Milwaukee Area Technical College. Lowistine received her Christian education at an early age under the leadership of the late Reverend Matthew Beacham of Canaan Baptist Church. She was baptized in 1961, and' joined the Youth Usher Board. In 2002, Lowistine became a member of Holy Temple Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Walter Ward. In 2008, she rejoined Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Joe A. Games. In 2021, Lowistine joined New Hope Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Dr. Archie L. Ivy. In 1985, Lowistine met and married her lover and partner for life, Robert L. Moton. Through their years together they enjoyed traveling and hosting family gatherings for their children and grandchildren. Lowistine was always a hard worker. She worked her very first job as a teenager in 1968 with the Inner-City Development Project. She was a young employee of one of the first African American clothing store and restaurant located on North Teutonia Avenue. In 1970, she went on to Milwaukee County Mental Health Complex as a Hospital Attendant. Her other employers were Hillcrest Convalescent, Bel-Air Nursing Homes, and Personnel Services Nursing Care. In 1982, Lowistine became employed with the State Department of Corrections. Rising through advancement from Correction Officer I at Waupun Correctional Facility, to Youth Counselor 3 at Eathan Allen School for Boys, to Probation/Parole Agent 3 from which she retired in 2005. In 2009, Lowistine came out of retirement to join with Home Instead Senior Care as a caregiver, which was her passion. Lowistine has many hobbies, which included cooking, being a seamstress, gardening, singing and being a good listener. Lowistine Moton departed this life on August 6, 2022. She was preceded in death by: parents, Connie C. Wolfe and Irene E. Conley; and siblings, Larry Wolfe, Rosemary Wolfe, Lamont Jagers, and Carthrell Jagers. She leaves to cherish her memory: husband of 37 years, Robert Moton; children, Ansara Wolfe (Andre) Bowie of Milwaukee, WI and Darrence (Timeka) Wolfe of Menifee, CA; her very precious grandchildren, D'Marrion, Arica, Breuna, Andre Jr., Sorci. Diamond, and Joshua; great-grandchildren, Melvin and James III; siblings, Bettye J. (Patrick) Wallace of Memphis, TN, Julia M. (Willie) Godbolt of Memphis, TN, Naomi D. (Victor, deceased) Flanigan of Milwaukee, WI, Anthony L. (Angie) Jagers of Milwaukee, WI, Lisa D. Conley of Atlanta, GA, McClinton (Alexandria) Jagers of California, and Rodney (Carlotta) Jagers of Milwaukee, WI; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
