Mrs. Lucendia Lewis-Porter

Lucendia Trell Pinkins Porter was born on December 14, 1965 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Rosie B. Pinkins and William Cotton. She attended the Milwaukee Public School system for a short time. After the demise of her mother she and her siblings were uprooted to Memphis, Tennessee. The four older ones were taken in by their mother's uncle and the two youngest ones were taken to Henderson, Tennessee by their father. Lucendia Trell graduated from Memphis High School. She attended Dyersburg College. She returned to Milwaukee shortly after graduation with two sons and their father. She enrolled at MATC and majored in Psychology. She also obtained her CNA Certificate. She was blessed with two more sons a few years later. She took in her brother's infant son, Cory and raised him as well. She lived a full life traveling, enjoying many states. She lived in Milwaukee for a while, then returned to Memphis for about ten years and lived the rest of her life in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She loved life and people, especially her children. She was always going to school to improve her life. She worked at MPS as a Para-Health Care worker. She loved clothes, jewelry, cars, music, getting her hair braided and playing cards, most of all she loved her family. Lucendia Trell Porter departed this life on October 8,2015. She was preceded in death by both parents, Rosie B. Pinkins and William Cotton; one sister Tina Pinkins, grandmother, Nettie Ballentine; and brother, George Butler. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of ten years, Larry Porter; mother-in-law, Lavern Porter; five sons, Lance Pinkins, Tyran Pinkins, Leroy Elvantay Pinkins, Cory Pinkins and Jarell Pinkins, two step-daughters, Jetia Porter and Dejah Porter; sisters, Vera Marie Shields, Theresa Shields of Memphis, TN and Margaret Ammons of Detroit, MI; brothers, Tony Vernon Pinkins, William Henry Pinkins and Joe Scales; two brother-in-laws, Frederick Tennial (Omarrell) of Memphis, TN and John Hogan (Jennifer) of Memphis, TN; aunts, Mary King, Evelyn Cotton, Beverly Cotton, Tiny Cotton, Villey Daniels (Charles) all of Milwaukee, WI, Wendy Elin (Darryl) of Memphis, TN and Jackie Myers of Memphis, TN; uncles, Clarence E. Ballentine (Bertha) of Chicago, IL, Leno Ballentine of Milwaukee, Myron Myer (Katrina) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Elesia Hill LaKayla Pinkins, Lamarion Pinkins, Brandi Pinkins, Brandin Pinkins, Latorrence Davids; Jamell Johnson, Dominick Johnson, Dominique Lawrence, Andrew Lawrence, Antionette Lawrence, Little Lawrence, special friends, Dion Kerby of lndianapolis, IN, Mike and Kathleen Krueger and Edward and Gail Jude of Milwaukee, WI; god daughter Magdalena Goodlow; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
