Mrs. Lue Dell Penn

Mrs. Lue Dell Penn, a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and friend was called home to glory on Monday, December 3, 2018 in Wanamingo, Minnesota. She is preceded in death by husband, Charles L. Penn; father, Willie H. Henderson; and brother, C1eosey Henderson. Mrs. Penn was born in Camden, Arkansas on May 13, 1938 to the union of Willie H. Henderson (deceased) and Vester Lee Henderson. Mrs. Penn attended the Arkansas public school system. At an early age she joined Forest Grove Church in Homer, ouisiana where she attended Sunday school. In 1950, at the age of 12, Mrs. Penn relocated with her mother to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she attended the Milwaukee Public School System. As Mrs. Penn became an adult and embarked on life's journey oflove and loss her first marital union dissolved, but she was blessed with three beautiful children; two sons, Robert and LeRoy Jackson; and a daughter, Mary Bizzell. As a single mother raising three children, Mrs. Penn worked very hard to care and provide for her family. Mrs. Penn was a dedicated employee of St. Joseph's Hospital and Froedtert Hospital, where she worked a combined 20 years in Housekeeping. During her time as an employee at St. Joseph's she met the true love of her life, the late Charles L. Penn. They married on June 6, 1980. Mrs. Penn was the thread that kept the fabric of her family connected. In her earlier years, she often hosted holiday events and card parties at her house. Her favorite card games were Spades and Bid Whiz. She loved to rub it in your face when she won a good game. When she wasn't smack talking someone at a card game, she loved fishing and would spend hours on the fishing banks of local parks with her husband. Mrs. Penn's home was the house that all the children, grandchildren, and close friends navigated to; some for good times and some when they were going through rough times and just needed a place to stay. Her door was opened. She welcomed you with love ... tough love if that's what it took and "tell it like it is" wisdom. She meant what she said, said what she meant, and she did it all with love. Years after the passing of her beloved husband Charles, Mrs. Penn in her renewed walk with the Lord, joined Holy Miracle Christian Church of Milwaukee, WI. She was a dedicated member of the church until she relocated to Zumbrota, MN to be closer to her three children. Left to mourn her passing is her mother, Mrs. Vester Osborne; sons, Robert Jackson and LeRoy Jackson; daughter, Mary Bizzell, 9 grandchildren; LueVennia "Lisa" Taylor, Duntray Jackson, Christina Cooper, Robin Gonzalez, Bennie Cobb Jr., Linda Jackson, Jason Jackson, Robvon Jackson, and Jarion Jackson; and host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and friends.
