Mr. Marion Sylvester Oliver

Marion Sylvester Oliver was born on October 31, 1932 to the union of Howard Oliver, Sr.and Sophronia Evans Dolby. He attended the public school system in Enterprise, Mississippi and on April 16, 1953 Marion enlisted tor service into the United States Army, where he retired on August 31, 1973, as a Alpha/Sergeant. While serving our country he was awarded: Army of Occupation (Germany), National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal Valorous Unit Award, Cornbat Infantryman's Badge, Army Commendation Medal, Bronze Star Medal, 2 O/S Bars, and Driver Qualification Award. Marion Oliver accepted Christ as his Savior and on November 3, 1996 at Flora Branch Baptist.Church, (North, South Carolina) he became an Ordained Deacon. While living in Milwaukee.Wisconsin he worshiped at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. Marion Oliver was united in holy matrimony with Eartha J. Muldrow on March 28, 1993 in Columbia, South Carolina. Their union was blessed with the joining of 12 children. Marion Oliver participated and served in many different honors as a Worshipful Master at Progressive Lodge in Cola South Carolina; Patron of Unity Chapter 222 'D.E.S. in Cola, South Carolina; Grand Patron of field of Morals Youth Masons and Eastern Star in Wageener South-Carolina; past Exalted Ruler of the Palmetto Elks Lodge in Cola South Carolina. He enjoyed cooking, football and baseball games, leading, teaching, communication and worshiping. Marion Oliver is preceded in death by: father, Howard Oliver Sr. mother, Sohpronia Evans Dolby; brothers, Willie James Dolby and Rufus Dolby; sisters, Annell Harris and Mary Ann Dolby; son, Frederick Oliver; daughter, Blanche Sims and grandson, Marlow Oliver. He leaves to cherish his memory; loving wife, Mrs. Eartha J. Oliver; ten children, Mary (Choyce) Odum (daughter in Milwaukee, WI, Howard (Gloria) Oliver (son in Milwaukee), Marcellus Oilver (son in Milwaukee, WI), Shirley Oliver (daughter in Milwaukee, WI), daughters, Amelia Jackson, Brenda Kitchings, Lillian Davis, Cynthia Muldrow, and son Tony Jackson all of Cola, SC.; Florence Evans (god-daughter in Colombia, SC); 30 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy (Robert) Dolby and Edna Ruth (Sweet) Cole; and one brother, Albert Charles Dolby and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and many friends.
