For I am new ready to Be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand i,have fought a good fight, I have finished my course,' I have kept the faith: Hence forth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me that day: and not to me only, But unto an them also that love his appearing." 2 Timothy 4:6-8 Maxine Canada Edwards was born June 1, 1937 to the lateEddie and Lela (Hillard) Canada in Pickens, Arkansas: Maxine surrendered her life to Christ during her youth and while living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin sustained her commitment as a Christian and joined Holy Temple Baptist Church. She was a God praising and loving woman who would often wear magnificent hats as she celebrated her Redeemer. She remaineda faithful member for an extended period until her health declined. Maxine married R. B. Edwards in 1997. This union nurtured and loved two daughters and a son. Maxine was employed by Milwaukee County for 'more tha~ 20 ye~rs as a nursing professional at the Milwaukee County Hospital. She honored His plan for her: serving with patience, peacefulness and professionalism On February 20, 2015, God needed her light to help Him to illumine Paradise and commissioned for her to come home. She will long beremembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, great aunt. Godmother, friend, co- worker and good citizen. Her gentle, quiet and elegant demeanor distinguished her and she was quick to give an approving smile to all who met her. Maxine worked diligently to be a virtuous wife, to rear her children and to model honorable living for family and friends. Her children marveled while calling her "Mother". Her life story is one to remember, for it was richly woven with love, peace and respect and is evident in her descendants as it was instilled in her by her parents. Her parents lived a Christian life and guided their children to live, love and laugh with a Godly spirit. While sitting at the right hand of the Father in Paradise, she leaves Him to shine in the lives and hearts of her loved ones: her husband, R.B. Edwards, daughters: Pamela Dinkins (Thomas), Milwaukee, WI; Bridget Canada (affianced to Marvin Nash) Milwaukee, WI; and son: Brian Canada, Milwaukee, WI; grandchildren. Thomas (Abbye) Dinkins, Madison, WI; Keyonda (Charles) Coleman, Milwaukee, WI; Renardo (Sabria) Dinkins, Milwaukee, WI; Keon Canada, Milwaukee, WI and Kanika Hall, Milwaukee, WI; great grandchildren: Samarah Morgan, Justin, Savanna, Amaya, Anelya and Rease; four siblings: Catherine Edwards, Pine Bluff, AR.; Merdis Jolmson, Milwaukee; WI Clementine Colbert, Milwaukee, WI; and Anthony (Theodoris) Canada, Milwaukee, WI and a host of nieces, nephews, Ms. Mattie Brown, Mother-in-law, other relatives and friends.
