Ms. Milinda Coleman

MILINDA COLEMAN was born September 26, 1949 to her loving parents Willie and Helen Anderson in Amite, Louisiana. Milinda was introduced to the Lord at an early age. She served at Bethany Lutheran Church until the ministry closed. Milinda continued to serve as a faithful member at International Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Milinda loved her family and cherished every moment with them. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, praise dancing, walking at the lake while enjoying the view of the water, writing music, eating and praying daily with her prayer partner. In receiving her formal education, Milinda attended Milwaukee Public Schools. Milinda's early career was spent modeling for commercials and in working for the Yellow Cabs service. In 1985, she was an independent cab service operator with Louis Coleman for both Milwaukee Brew City and Yellow Cab. Milinda continued pouring love into her family and serving the Lord until she was called home. On Thursday, August 17, 2023, Milinda Coleman entered into eternal rest. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Willie and Helen Anderson; sister, Carolyn Kelly; three brothers: Carnell Anderson, Arthur Lee Anderson and Michael Anderson; son-in-law, Dondale Young and brother-in-law, Roosevelt Watson; five uncles: B.B. King Bryant, Wesley (Brother) McKnight, Louis (Buba) Anderson, William (Shorty) Anderson and Leroy Perkins; six aunts: Ella Doughty, Dorthy Bryant, Beatrice (Sister) Brown Annie Anderson, Maebe Ivey, Leester (Lee) Pope and Betty Jean Lanier. Milinda will be forever remembered and cherished dearly by: her six children, Helen (Lamont) Anderson-Johnson, Lonnie (Phyllis) Anderson, Arthur (Jania) Anderson, Jewlonda (Carlos) Hubbard, Makyda Booker, and Savanna Coleman; nineteen grand- children, forty-one great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchild; her last living aunt, the matriarch of the family, Nellie Major Graham; three brothers: Willie (Bernadette) Anderson, Robert Anderson, Anthony (Kim) Anderson; four sisters: Willie May Williams, Debra Anderson, Geraldine Anderson and Leaster Watson; sister-in-laws, Lynn Anderson and Minson Anderson. She leaves behind a host of relatives and friends. Milinda was truly one of a kind. She will continue to be loved and treasured for always.
