Ms. Oletha Nathan

Oletha "Lethe' Nathan was born to the union of WC.Johnson and Mattie Johnson on July 20, 1949 in Pascagoula, Mississippi. She was the third of seven.children. Oletha was raised in Moss point, Mississippi and received her education from the Moss Point School.District. Oletha completed her high school education at Magnolia High School. She valued her education and loved to reed. Oletha married John Triplett in 1965 and they had four children; Angela, Edith, Pamela and John Jr. Oletha and John divorced in 1974. In 1975, Oletha met Julius "Topcat'' Nathan, "the love of her life." Julius and Oletha married in 1989 and she remained married to Julius until his passing on April 23, 2017. After her first marriage, Oletha moved to Milwaukee,· Wisconsin: Although; living in Milwaukee, Oletha never forgot about her Mississippi home. She would visit Mississippi often to spend time with her parents and siblings. Oletha also, loved planning family reunions in Moss Point to get all her family together. Oletha accepted Christ' at an early age. Anyone that knew Oletha. knew she loved the Lord. Oletha last attended Christ Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop P.J: Henderson and the late Hugh B. Genous. Oletha became disabled later in life and found it difficult to physically attend church, but that did not stop her from having church at home. Oletha was constantly reading the bible,singing, praying, and praising God. which filled our home with the Holy Spirit. Like her mother Mattie Lee Johnson told Oletha, and Oletha told others to "Imprint the word of-God in your hearts." Oletha was employed as a Cerfified Nursing Assistant for most of her life and was last employed at Luther Manor Nursing Horne. She worked at Luther Manor for over 26 years. Oletha had a care giving spirit and a heart to want to help anyone that came to her. This. spirit was evident in the care she gave to her children, grandchildren, and siblings: Oletha's caring heart was also seen in the end of life care she gave to her husband and parents. Oletha, at the age of- 75, departed tor her Heavenly Home on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at home surrounded by all her children and ·grandchildren. She was preceded in death by both her parents; WC Johnson and Mattie Lee Johnson; her husband, Julius Nathan: her sister. Lettie Johnson; her sister, Gloria Jean Johnson; and her brother, Charles Dubose. Oletha leaves to cherish her memory: her four children, Angela (Gregory) Triplett, Edith (Edward) Brown, Pamela (Reese Triplett-Hicks and .John Triplett Jr.: ten grandchildren, Andrew Triplett, Taneisha Triplett, Alexander Williams; Anthony Williams, Daneisha Kirksey, Alyssa Akintunde. Taniya Gray, Breanna. Triplett, Lyfe Brown. and Edward Brown IV; her siblings, Linda Hawkins. Shirley Walker, and Warren (Jacqueline) Johnson; and a host of extended family members including sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, 9reat grandchildren, friends and neighbors.
