Mrs. Patricia Ann Haynes

Patricia Ann Haynes was born in the small town of Janesville, North Carolina on November 27, 1930. She grew up in Philadelphia, PA where she met and married the one and only love of her life, Robert Jasper Haynes Sr. in 1950. In 1952, they moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they were married for 27 beautiful years raising their eight children and a host of nieces and grandchildren. As a child, Patricia prayed for a house full of kids to love and God definitely gave her the desire of her heart. When one of her kids would say, "I love you, Momma" her reply would always be, "I love you more"; and she truly did. Patricia was a virtuous woman, supportive wife, loving mom, and kindhearted friend. She was happiest when she cooked a scrumptious meal for family and her friends at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Visiting ministers often made special request for Patricia's homemade chicken and dumplings. She loved her church and cherished her membership on the Mother's Board. Everyday at Patricia's home was a fine china day and every guest felt special. She also enjoyed gardening; sewing, decorating, and beautiful hats. She had an exquisite eye for beauty, and the ability to create marvelous gardens and warm, captivating living spaces. Any project she touched expressed her classy essence and sheer elegance. Patricia's kindness was equally matched by her brilliant mind and quick-wit. Self-taught, she faced life head-on without intimidation, fear, or a handout. She easily acquired the jobs of her choice and performed her duties exceptionally. She retired from the Milwaukee County Mental Health Hospital after 30 years of faithful service. Her caring heart and firm hands applied God's grace to many grateful patients from all walks of life. Before quietly passing away on May 19, 2016 at the age of 85, Patricia lived and loved life to the fullest. She traveled around the world to faraway places like Egypt and Israel, and successfully raised her children by herself after the death of her husband, Robert in 1976. A powerful matriarch and lover of the Good Lord, Patricia left us with wisdom, independence, power, courage, and most of all a unifying love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jasper Haynes Sr.; daughter, MaeOdis Hence; and siblings, George Moore [r., Nyrone Moore, Helen Biggs, Zenobia Norman, Celestine Finney, and Stadford Moore. Patricia was survived by: seventy-three offspring covering four generations; her children, Roberta Haynes, Robert Jasper Haynes Jr., Renee Haynes, Curtis Lee Haynes (Lynda), Vickie Diane Viverette (Rodney), Floyd Keith Haynes I (Angela), and Ronald Earl Haynes (Shelia), and siblings, Meredith Moore Jr., Truman Moore, Godwin Moore, Darlene McCarthy, and Demetris Roberts.
